I've known the restaurant for years, and as tima has passed, the variety of the food has became shorter and the quality changed from excelent to average.
The "uniqueness" of the place came from the overall environmentm and the old and tradicional decoration. Today, ir has a more modern look, but this isn't in the best concept of modern. A bit kitch maybe...
I've known this place in more glourious days.. hope they return.

Went for lunch on March 30th on the recommendation of 3 local women who promised home cooking.It was also the only restaurant open on Monday.Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service in relation with the price (27 euros for 2 mains,2 desserts,a bottle of wine and coffees)

A small, intimate restaurant with a superb kitchen. Everything was fresh, very tasty, and elegantly presented. Food has a Portuguese theme, using local seasonal ingredients of the highest quality.
Fluent English spoken, the menus are bilingual English / Portuguese. Nespresso coffee served.
All in all, first class in every way except the prices, which are very reasonable.

Em Trancoso, a Rota dos Cavaleiros é um restaurante que constitui referência pela autenticidade da sua gastronomia tradicional e pelo ambiente que conferem ao cliente e apreciador de um bom prato beirão, os ingredientes para uma boa refeição em familia, de negocios, dcelebrações e convivio.
Ponto de encontro de amigos, o proprietário, Sr Valdemar e esposa e todos os colaboradores têm smepre um sorriso e uma forma sublime de bem acolher .
Bem servir é o lema deste restaurante em Trancoso. Aqui se vivenciam as memórias e as histórias desta também Histórica Cidade ( antiga vila) medieval.

Basically it's what the title says. You can expect to have a very nice meal, with nicely prepared food in very generous portions. You won't be starving there, rest assured. With drinks and one dessert averages at 15€ per person. Quite reasonable in my opinion!
Worth a visit if you're nearby, as it sits quite near to the main road.

This was an excellent value snack bar. Lots of different snacks to choose from all at incredibly low prices - good quality food and friendly staff.

My husband and I had the most fabulous meal in this restaurant. We ordered a few dishes thinking that we will just try. Oh! Well we are ten all. Everything was well prepare and very fresh. The service was very nice also. We arrived just about 8pm on a Saturday and were the only patrons. By 9pm the place was full
We ordered grilled sheep cheese (I would like to have that every day!!), small fried sardines, fried shrimps, grilled squid and prawns and grilled sea bass. We followed the waiter suggestions and it was a great choice.
Please don't miss O Museu when visiting Trancaso.

Well priced good honest food. Lovely staff - couldn't be more helpful. Steak was very good. Lovely salad. Good complimentary port offered by the staff. Very well priced.
