Mr Fish

The fish nuggets at Mr. Fish are the absolute best. The shop is very nondescript on a well traveled main road in Shelburne. Once you taste the fish and fries you just want to tell somebody, "This is the best fried fish I've ever eaten!" We wish we lived closer and wish they would franchise it. Yea!, Mr. Fish.

Scotia Lunch

Reviewed By NovaScotiaSnowbirds - Nova Scotia

After visiting a family member at the hospital we needed a quick lunch before a long drive home. Scotia Lunch looked like the ideal place. Our food arrived quickly, My husband enjoyed the 3 piece fried chicken meal and I had fried haddock. Both were good; I just found their menu limited. Not many combination meals everything had to be ordered separately, therefore increasing cost. Waitress was friendly.
The restaurant itself could use some updating, new chairs etc.

Called ahead to accommodate a party of 13. Already for us at the reserved time. Drinks were served orders, taken and we were all very happy with our entrees. The waitress was lovely, even took our pictures for us. Consistent with our last year reunion at the same place so will continue to go. We look forward to the food, atmosphere and always good friends.

Enjoyed a late lunch at Charlottes Lane in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. It's such a charming small restaurant and gift shop that it's hard to resist buying locally made trinkets and dining. I have to say that I was a little disappointed in the selection of menu/brunch specials - it seemed a smaller choice of sandwiches and salads than I remembered from the last time I visited two years ago. The soup of the day, curried tomato, was delicious but the Montreal smoked meat Sandwich dressing was overly/extremely spicy. I loved the dessert of sticky toffee pudding which I rarely see on menus. It was delicious! The presentation of the food is artfully done and the service is very good. Prices are moderately expensive. Lunch for 4 with beverages, dessert and tip amounted to $130 Canadian.
I never miss an opportunity to dine there when visiting the Maritimes.

The Beandock

Reviewed By ametsound - Beaver Bank

While walking the historic section of Shelburne on Dock St, decided it was time for lunch. Saw this place called Beandock Cafe. Went in for a looksee and almost walked back out. The room you enter is small with only 2 tables and a display case with their " sweets offerings". Figured it was simply a place with coffee, tea and sweets. Thankfully my wife asked if there was a menu. We were shown a menu and advised there was a lunch menu for the dining room. Much to our surprise we were walked through a very short passage way to an area with two more smaller sections with Seating for maybe 20 people. We ordered the seafood chowder ( medium size) and coffee. Wow. The chowder was amazing as was the coffee and the servings are large. It was all we could do to finish the chowder. You will Not be disappointed. Definitely give this place a try.. And do not let that first impression fool you.

The Ship's Galley Pub and Eatery

We are a fully licensed pub and eatery. We serve fresh seafood, gourmet burgers, pulled pork, hand cut fries and fresh made in house salads, sauces and coleslaw. We support local Breweries and wineries. Live music from local performers, DJ dances and a Jukebox. We also do caterings on site and off site.

We recently ate at The Ship's Galley restaurant with some friends. We shared some appetizers and each had our own entrees. Everything had good portion size. This was primarily pub style food with a good selection of seafood options given its location in a town with a long heritage of fishing.

Sophia's Cafe

Reviewed By Blair M - Halifax, Canada

Visited this restaurant for the first time with a group of work collegues while in Shelburne. It is located in the Shelburne Mall, and if not looking for it, you will miss it. The menu has numerous choices and there were three lunch specials. Each of us had a different lunch item and everyone commented on the good food. Chicken noodle soup appeared and tasted like home made. I had a hot chicken Sandwich which came with mashed potatoes, turnip, carrots and cole slaw ($9.50). Lots of chicken and vegetables were fine. Others who had sandwiches enjoyed their choices. But the real winner for our group was the one who had a large lobster chowder. Someone else had a small lobster chowder which we assumed was the large. Then the real large came out. Unbelievable amount of lobster in this chowder. Service was great and next time we are in the area for lunch, this place is worth another visit.

Shelburne Cafe

Reviewed By RedRyder98

We stopped by this restaurant after getting off the ferry at Yarmouth (I know it's a fair drive). We found this restaurant completely by chance, as it's on the main street that runs through Shelburne.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Everything was fresh and home-cooked. The menu was simple, but each item sounded individually unique, and tasty.
We learned later that this restaurant is also part of an inclusion program. The wait staff did an excellent job, and it wasn't apparent at the time.
Keep up the good work.
