One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. The only complaint is that the salad starter was too big. Eberythi was wonderful and you would be a fool to miss this place. Service was first class. 100% .... A true gem.

Casa Rico

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful waiter who took the time to explain us the various dishes on the menu. At the entrance was a counter-full of beautiful looking tapas, too many to describe here.
We ordered several tapas, but the one that was outstanding was the morcilla, the best I have eaten in all of Spain. The next course was the oven-finished octopus. Tasty and so tender that you cut it with fork - spectacular. Followed by an assortment of fried Mediterranean very small fish, a bit longer than a normal index finger. I counted red mullet, sole, whiting and one or two other varieties. The fish had a nice crispy skin but the inside was perfect. The last dish was fried calamari - fresh and perfectly fried. During the meal some free tapas were brought to the table by the very jovial chef (we were sitting downstairs close to the kitchen door.) The desert, I did not try, but my girlfriend did not say a word as she devoured hers and had a big smile on her face when she finished it.
One interesting thing happened. I am still not very familiar with Spanish wines, so I asked the waiter to bring me a good bottle of dry, somewhat fruity white wine. I forgot to give him a price range, and it was only after I tasted the wine that I realized my omission. The wine was fantastic and perfect with the meal. I was stunned to see that it only cost 12 euros for the bottle (one of the least expensive on the list.) I was dealing with honest people who could have taken advantage of my request. Will definitely return. The two-hour drive will be worthwhile.

Los Curros

Telephone 965411121. A wonderful bar restaurant right next door to the fish market on the pier of the harbour at Santa Pola. Used mostly by locals and using produce straight off the Santa Pola fishing fleet boats. Fantastic value we had 10 separate maritime dished with 2 bottles of wine for 61 Euros. From tuna steak to soused anchovies, whitebait to crab salad - fantastic and a wonderful atmosphere as the evening fish market was in full swing next door.

We called ahead for a lunch reservation. The clams were awesome. The waiter was good and the beer was cold. The restaurant is right on the beach. I recommend that you stop at Los Curros for lunch!

This place serves you a perfect steak every time! I've had different steaks as well as other things, including seafood, and it is all good (maybe not the tuna carpaccio). The place is easy to find and close to the Carabassi Beach in Gran Alacant.

We ate last night, desperate to eat fresh fish in Santa Pola.
Friends of owners apartment recommended.
Excellant choice, we had the mixed grilled fish platter for two @€35. Cooked lightly by experienced female chefs in the kitchen.
The waiter was trying desperately for us to have a starter first as is normal he said. Not if you don't want one though!!
We decided to have a red wine, served chilled here, but though was a Crianza was dry.
Definitely recommend for good fish, we will go back again next week.

A little difficult to assess as the day I visited it was very quiet and I'm sure it's a much better atmosphere when busy.
The food I had was good but I did expect something just a little better, maybe my expectations were just a little high. Anyway I'll try again on a busier day.

We stumbled across this restaurant whilst walking along the marina and so pleased we stopped for dinner. The service was brilliant and the menu was mainly based around seafood. We had the calamari and sea bass paella to follow. Both were cooked beautifully and just the right size.

Santa Pola has many restaurants but why so few with current reviews ? Anyway, we were not very hungry, so we wanted a light dinner. We started with 2 huge Gin+Tonics, served by a cheerful Waitress followed by rather nice Baguettes. Just what we needed.

Seafood restaurant located in the heart of Santa Pola near the fishing port . Specialists Somo local seafood and local cuisine. Rice, seafood and all the increase of sea that offers us the Mediterranean Sea. We HAVE daily menus .

Set opposite the marina, this restaurant had us confused at first. Havine taken a table outside expecting the usual table servie, it turns out that you have to go to a window at the front of the restaurant, choose your raw food from the chiller cabinet display, which is ghen cooked how you want it.
Staff understanding of English is about as good as my Spanish - very limited- but that did not deter the very helpful waiter. With our few words of the other's language and much sign language we discovered that they also have a few tables next to the building and a masive internal area where waiter service is available.
Tried their paella, which is much darker in colour and a bit saltier than usual, which we put down to the use of a different array of seasonings than usual, the food was very good and the portions massive (serving for 3 will satisfy most families of 4).
Very good food and very friendly and helpful staff, I would recommend this restaurant over the modern designer type establishments over the road.
