Baroque, neoclassical and neogothic mix in the city's buildings, notably at the pink stone 18th-century church on the Plaza Principal. Founded in 1542, the city is a mix of Hispanic and Mesoamerican influences.

A nice breakfast/lunch spot that ha occasional "special event" dinners. Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast-Huevos Sinaloa- that was beautifully presented in a Mexican contemporary dining room that should win a design award. Owner stopped by our table to chat and you definitely saw a passion for delivering a great customer experience.

Under clear, star-studded skies, the Luna Rooftop Tapas Bar serves up savory authentic Mexican and Spanish tapas that can be enjoyed individually or family style. A tempting, casual place to linger after the day's pursuits, this al fresco setting presents breathtaking views of La Parroquia, the city and magnificent sunsets.

Everyone wants to watch the sunset from Luna so get there an hour and a half early and have a drink while you wait. If they won’t let you up in the elevator, just have dinner in the lobby restaurant and go upstairs for a cocktail afterwards. The view is awesome at night as you see all the lights of the city.

I went to this restaurant because of the ratings but was not completely impressed except for the ceviche, which was good. I ordered a beef soup for my son and told the waiter explicitly not to make it spicy, but ended up being spicy anyway, and I was told that they could not make the soup without being spicy (too late - already served!!!). Not a lot of child-friendly options.

They just debuted their new vegan menu and damn, is it good! My personal taco recommendations: Norteño, del huerto y chorizo. The hibiscus (jamaica) margarita with chili salt is so delicious. The food and drinks are awesome, but the best thing about Don Taco Tequila are the people who work there. They are obviously passionate about the quality and inventiveness of their food and are super chill and welcoming.

La Mezcaleria

This is a copy/paste on basic restaurant etiquette. Children at a Restaurant "If your children are dining with you, make sure they know how to behave in a restaurant. Not only does bad behaviour make your experience miserable, you are disrupting other people's meals. Teach your children how to be courteous and respectful of others before you take them to a restaurant. Consider the type of restaurant before bringing your children. Most family restaurants can accommodate toddlers. However, it's best to leave a small child with a sitter when you go to a bar or an upscale restaurant." Cheers, Alexander

Wow! This was, by far, the best seafood we have had (and we spent summers in Maine for fifteen years).
Oysters on the half shell were plump as could be and freshly briny but sweet. Scallops and lobster tail over coconut rice were scrumptious. Perfect and generous margaritas, icy cold beer, and the best pour of Tequila resposada ever. Attentive staff and Mario...felt more like eating at your favorite relative's home than at a restaurant.

Rooftop tables offer an amazing view. Weather was perfect. The food is very very reasonable and absolutely outstanding. We have appetizers including the shrimp, for dinner I had crab toast and a couple tacos and everything was incredible.
Would never have found it without a recommendation from a local expat. Short walk from the main square but highly recommend.

El Pato Barbacoa y Mixiotes

Reviewed By JeannieStu - Asbury Park, New Jersey

It took a while to convince our driver that this place existed but we did some research and brought us for breakfast the next morning. Because that is when you are supposed to eat Barbocoa we were told. Not what you would expect for eating under a tarp in a parking lot. Three courses of lamb. Each one more delicious then the next. The consommé really warmed us up on the brisk December morning. The barbocoa was so tender and juicy we ate every last piece. This place is a real gem. Just like Pilar! We wanted to take her home with us. The hospitality and food were over the top!! Closed on Tuesday - she needs to rest.
