Fernando's Hideaway

You are never disappointed with any aspects of Fernando's Hideway. It is the last building at the end of a road (truly hidden). You are captivated by its charm as soon as you enter. The food is alway delicious, the staff and chef (Fernando) are all friendly and helpful. Dont miss this one when you go to Bequia. Fondly known as Nando's.

Coco's Place

Reviewed By pppadc - moreton in marsh

Terrible service, poor attitude, food expensive average and we left hungry. No music which was advertised. No lobster, no crab, no this or that. Then cash only as no internet connection but I can post this! Avoid. Places like this will ruin Bequia. Shame on you Coco after running a great place in lower bay everything has been downhill.

We visited this beautiful cafe twice during out trip to the grenadines. We enjoyed coffee and the most delicious cinnamon buns ever. It’s the most beautiful spot, sitting under the almond tree looking out over admiralty bay. Outstanding value for money.

Maria's French Terrace

Having sampled a few rum punches in the Caribbean these were up with the best. Quite strong, not too sweet and just the right amount of nutmeg. You could while away a pleasant afternoon on this upstairs balcony watching the people below and keeping an eye on the sea. What made it extra special was the friendly personal service. We asked for some crisps. They didnt have any but the man who worked there went down to the shop next door, brought some back and gave them to us on the house. Gestures like this make you feel very welcomed and it certainly encouraged us to stay and have another rum punch!! It had a real Caribbean chilled vibe. Don’t expect a posh venue, just local warmth and hospitality.

Fantastic venue with superb views over the beach towards Mustique. Nice table on the waterfront. Waiters came back twice to confirm our order and who ordered what.
Amuse bouche was unexpected and unremarkable.
The dressing on my garlic prawns had split. Flavour was ok.
My Marlin was overcooked, burnt on one side and dry and chewy: ruined by poor cooking. The Callaloo was nice, the breadfruit purée had sugar in it. This American habit of putting sugar in savoury food doesn't work for me.
My wife's fish stew was very good. Our friend's bisque was supposed to be a 'main' portion; it wasn't.
The complimentary coconut ice cream was superb. The rosé wine was excellent.
Basically, the food was ok but not to the standard promised.

Had a Good Friday night at Mac’s. The pizza was really good and the drinks awesome too. It is waterfront which is also nice. The only reason it doesn’t get 5* is due to the price. They definitely have the market and know it too. Would return but only for a special occasion.

Tommy Cantina

The Happy Hour written on a chalkboard got my attention because it was for all afternoon and included a couple food nibblies. The house special Rum Margarita was unique after visiting 16 Islands in the past 5 weeks. The menu had a variety instead of just stewed chicken with rice or roti (which by the way comes complete with skin and bones). At the bar sat Carlos who I learned was sort of the owner only having been there for over a month from Argentina. I sampled their best ever rum punch, told everyone loves it. My partner and I also sampled the margarita along with a chicken quesadilla which was tasty. Carlos and I discussed Argentina Malbec to top off the fun exchange. Cute setting tucked at the end of the waterfront area next to the walkway.

We have eaten at Jack’s for both lunch and dinner. It is a great casual place to dine on one of the most beautiful Beaches in the Caribbean. Good food and atmosphere, or just stop in for a drink. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you are on Bequia do not miss Jack’s. You can walk over from the end of Belmont Walkway or get a cab to take you there.
