We had a Saturday lunch in July. Fisherman's soup and Gulash were poor. Further fish dishes were without taste, but heavy due to lots of oil. Ratatouille meant four slices of grilled tomatoe and three slices of grilled zucchini. Not recommended. Not even for cost/benefit.

Very tasty traditional Hungarian food (also for vegetarians and pescatarians) close to thermal pool area. There is nice folk related interior design inside and outside the restaurant. The employees speak several languages - so it is easy to order the adequate meal.

We stop to have some rest and food on the way from Hungary to Vienna.
As our guide-tour told us in 2009 was awarded for being the best rest.
Trully is very modern clean and with good quality food and coffee, also fresh fruits & salads, tasty sandwitches, nice sweets and ofcourse marvellus ice-cream.There is also a picky play corner for children.Prises are reasonable as it is a tourist place.
Downstairs ,you pay for the rest-rooms but when you buy food or coffee, you present the ticket and they discount it from the bill.So be carefull to go first to the toilettes and after for dining.

A good snack bar. Menu in German and English as well as Hungarian. No big meals but decent-sized sandwiches, toasties etc for £1 / €1.50 / $2. Nice-looking breakfasts but these are only served until 1230.
Nice waitress, spoke some English. Nice kids' play area inside.
Also a huge selection of wines, cocktails etc but we didn't have these.

We had dinner here in September 2016. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was good. Most critically, the food was exceptionally high quality for what we paid for it.
My main course was pork medallions, which was superb. My wife had a chicken dish, which if being ultra-critical, she found slightly under-seasoned (I disagreed!), but nothing that couldn't be rectified by the salt, pepper or chilli on the table.
We also shared a beautiful dessert and a very good bottle of Hungarian wine.
This place looks more upmarket than most of the other options in Mosonmagyarovar, but you don't really pay for that.

A bit village style, almost like a buffet, with fast service. Food was all right, but was expecting a bit better fish soup.

It was the first time i had experienced fruit salad soup which was to say the least interesting. the portions were massive but the quality was poor, I started with Fried camembert cheese filled with cranberries, fresh salad with raspberry vinegar, with mashed potatoes, it was massive but the raspberry vinaigrette alas was missing, it proved tasteless and 90% was left on the plate, my wife had a garlic soup that was ok, we followed with Rump steak ‘Budapest’ style, with steak potatoes, (steak potatoes are apparently frozen chips) and Fillet of pork with sage, tagliatelle with creamy chanterelle, plenty of pork and a mountain of pasta but both poor. a lot lee food and better quality would have hit the mark better, wouldn't return or recommend-there are so many better places to eat in Mosonmagyarovar. Cost was very low but not worth the calories.

While the actual fish soup (halaszle) is half decent, they have Bible-thick menu so impossible to have freshly prepared, and bad stale white bread (not artisan or even fresh). Such basic things can ruin a lot of eating experience.

Interesting that Hungarians are praising their this café especially with their fond memories, but not many other people seem to bother. I will try to rectify that. Well, obviously food is a question of taste as well but you can compare on an international level and I will try to be fair here: The certainly best reason to come is the fabulous location in summer, when you can sit at the waterside and enjoy the sun.
However, don´t look close because you might think u r sitting next to a waste place. The dirt next to the water is piling up and things that fell down also from the café into the river bed were obviously never bothered to be taken out.
The coffee is nothing particularly special really, but o.k. What really rocks are the prices certainly, because coffee and drinks are well worth the money (but that again is true in most Hungarian cafés). Also very appreciated is the WIFI, which most good cafés in Moson provide.
I personally also enjoy the different baguett breads that are mostly done very well and fast. The personal is exceptionally friendly, which is not always the case here, especially towards Austrians or Slovak people. Some little things are still disturbing: In the back of the café a quarter of the tiles of the wall is falling of and that hasn´t been repaired for year now.
The sweets and cakes certainly don´t stand in an international comparison. Hungarian sweets are quite fat. Also, if you are looking for anything healthy or bio, you will be rather disappointing here.
Rather disturbing is the fact that even within the no-smoking zone close to the entrance door there are ashtrays on the table. When I mentioned that and asked to keep to the no-smoking signs as I can´t stand smoke, the waiter brushed me of and left the smokers alone.
What I do like is the the owner or what I believe is the owner is to be seem quite often at the café. In general she seems solicitous to keep up a good service. With so many other good cafés existing by now, she still has some work to do to convince me. I am really undecided between 3-4 points, but given the recent refurbishment with the wooden Terrace and the good prices and generally good service I will go for the better feedback this time. Monarchia, please see this as motivation to fix the things broken.
