Ponte do Diabo

The legend tells that the bridge was cursed by the Devil. Everyday that it was built, it was immediately destroyed the day after. The curse was broken by a priest who blessed a loaf of bread, throwing it across the bridge. The bridge remained bent forever as if the Devil's shoulder had left a mark that could not be ever erased while he was trying to push the bridge down. In our restaurant the food is not blessed but it is certainly divine. And unlike the Devil, we do not give with one hand and take with the other. Instead we put both hands on the finest traditional ingredients of the Portuguese cuisine and prepare our dishes to you.

I stayed at this hotel, and in the evening, there are very little walking distance options for a meal. Therefore, my family and I came to this restaurant for a decent meal.
I will say that the restaurant is nicely decorated, and a pleasant place for a meal, that is a fact. The place is spotless, bright and modern.
But, why do we come to the restaurant?... for the FOOD.
That is where we go wrong.
My wife and I ordered the steak, and my daughter ordered the cod-fish (bacalhau). Sadly, the quality received was poor.
First the steak was tough, dry, bland… and simply tasteless. A true disappointment. Yet… worse was the cod-fish ordered by my daughter. Nicely presented… that is a fact, but smelled terrible. When cod-fish smells like that, it indicates that it has been frozen for too long and refrozen. This burns the fish, and when you defrost it quickly (to prepare a meal) then this happens. It smells rotton. It was so bad, that we sent it back, and ordered the steak in exchange. Same as what my wife and I received.
Wine was good, and desert was a blessing.
Price is on the higher side of the scale, and for the quality received – it was such a huge disappointment, I cannot put in words what I think. Just poor for a restaurant with so much potential… with such a perfect view over the valley.
Management – PLEASE get this right!!!
