Casa Velha

We had an excellent dinner in Casa Velha. The staff was helpful and very nice and the food was great. We had fresh codfish fried fillet with cockle rice, it was fantastic. The white wine sangria was very good and also the desert was tasty. If you are in Lousã go have dinner here, you won't regret.

Borges

Reviewed By Pontes2013 - Europe

Standard Portuguese simple restaurant crammed at lunchtime with locals. Prato de Dia with soup, main course, carafe of house wine, bread and coffee included € 6.- per person. Excellent value. Good quality well prepared meat and a crispy side salad too. But...some staff not very friendly and the food was only lukewarm. If these shortcomings would be addressed I would rate the restaurant as "Very Good".

Taberna Burguesa

Reviewed By Norifolk2016 - Madeira, Portugal

We've used this bar quite a few times either for evening drinks before going on somewhere for dinner or more recently, a sneaky longish lunch. It's a common theme around these parts but the food is wholesome, unfussy and good value. Lunchtimes can be a bit quiet so if you are looking for atmosphere go there in the evening.

Restaurante Mimosa Da Beira

Reviewed By Tiago H - Coimbra, Portugal

Roadside family restaurant with simple, delicious and inexpensive Portuguese food. I personally recommend the sarrabulho, the roasted piglet and the Portuguese stew.
The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. Keep in mind that in the weekend you might need to wait 10-15 minutes for a table, but it's worth it.

What a lovely family run place! The large windows allow you to see in on the modern décor and once inside they give the place a light, airy ambience. The furniture mixes modern simplicity with retro chic - understated and just right.(Not a disposable paper tablecloth in sight!) The wine glasses are proper wine glasses. The menu is a mix of stuff, surely giving everyone the opportunity to pick something they will like. Even the 'tipico' dishes are given a modern makeover. I had a dish of the day which consisted of some lovely home-made fishcakes and my husband had a steak served in a sumptuous 'house' sauce. For dessert we chose a home-made cheesecake (made by a family member), gorgeous! We plan to go back with several relatives to sample the tapas menu.

Viscondessa

The restaurant is in one of the rooms of the Palácio da Viscondessa. The main room if all in painted wood, beautiful really. The food was great and the wine selection was quite good. The staff was friendly, although sometimes we had to ask to be served of water or wine as they take the bottles from the table and were not always attentive to wether our glasses were full or not. But this was a minor inconvenience.

After a long hike, we went to this small restaurant for lunch. It was a traditional stone building with cozy interiors, with a great view.
The gentleman (speak English) and his wife were very friendly and welcoming. We had three different types of bread, olives, and cheese for starters. The only meal available for lunch was Chanfana. The lady of the house served big portions of Chanfana in traditional clay pot along with boiled potatoes and blanched Portuguese spinach (sorry, I forgot the name) in olive oil. The food was really tasty and in the end we were really full without space for a desert. The food was very reasonably priced.
I would totally recommend this nice restaurant to anybody going to Talasnal.

Simple standard, fairly large, Portuguese restaurant frequented by locals. Tasty well prepared home made dishes, including local specialities like Chanfana and Leitao, at good prices. All inclusive menus on weekdays. Walk through the cafe and you will end up in the busy restaurant.
Friendly efficient staff.
