Chez Servais

We had a super lunch here. Service was excellent; the staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food is really very good; I had cod which was fresh, delicately flavoured and cooked to perfection. While the majority of the menu is fish-based there are meat options; my husband chose duck which he said was fantastic. We finished with the cheese plate which was tremendous - a great selection of fresh cheeses. All in all a lovely dining experience.

We were searching for a place to eat lunch and everything seemed closed. We fell upon this place and were happy we did. Everything was good quality and quick. The fries were delicious and their open face sandwiches were unique and tasty. I'd come back.

This is one of the best restaurant experiences that we have had in France. The food and the service was exceptional. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is five star in presentation and taste, however the price is surprisingly reasonable. If you have an opportunity to eat at this restaurant you will not be disappointed!

This was a great find and before dining there, we did not consult TripAdviser as we normally would.
Forget the decor just enjoy the food and the attentive staff.
After a welcoming glass of Rose, our starters of terrine of Sardines for Isobel and foie gras for me were perfect. Isobel had the duck and I enjoyed the sea bass. Both dishes were imaginatively presented and beautifully cooked.
We are experimenting with having our main meal at lunchtime and smaller fare in the evening and today was a great success.
This was good!

In the center of Libourne, it's a nice wine bistrot. We tried two glasses of good wines with big tartines of ham Serrano and brie and two plates: grilled filet of duck and a tartare. Both tasty and big portions! The staff is very nice and friendly

Exceeded expectations in all ways....tried the Sot l'ye Laisse last night...not bad but well below this place. Confit de canard , agneau , brûlée , salad gesiers ....plus some well chosen , tasty veg ( unusual for France ) and Cote de Castillion red...equal to a v good St Emilion. Also a large open wood fire which was actually used for some of the dishes. Will return soon as possible.

La Villa Vietnam

When one takes Vietnamese cuisine, which is generally delicate and tasty, and modifies it to suit French palates it can all become a bit bland and uninteresting.
Sadly this appears to be the case here, which offers a mix of many Asian foods including Chinese and Thai.
Our enrees of nems (spring rolls) and assorted vapeurs (steamed dumplings) were passable, but tasted commercially bought rather than made in-house, as they were identical to what finds in Chinese takeaways in France.
The mains of curried chicken and caramelised pork were a bit bland, as was the Cantonese rice and mixed vegetables.
There is a pleasant Terrace out the back and parking is easy in front.
Service was very good, as was the cold Chinese Tsing Tao beer on a day of 34C.
We lived in Singapore for 6 years and we crave good Asian food, which is really hard to find in France.
Sadly La Villa Vietnam did not meet our cravings and we will not rush back.

Possibly a relatively new restaurant, we enjoyed an excellent meal foie gras, cote de veau and strawberry soup. Slightly more expensive than surrounding restaurants and not offering formules in the evening, this was nevertheless good value for high quality food served most professionally. Strongly recommended.

Close to Saint-Emilion and Pomerol on the aisles of Libourne, Cosy Tourny is a haven of peace where the decoration combines authenticity and contemporary, garden Terrace , ingredients to share a moment of pleasure.

Visited on a recommendation. Enjoyable experience. Lovely garden to eat in. Staff are friendly, food is good. Pretty good value - 45 euros each for starters, mains, and a good bottle of St Julien. In a town that feels poorly served, this is a great choice.

La Dentelliere

Reviewed By Mark L - Edmonton, Canada

Tried La Dentellerie as an alternative offering casual meals without the size and cost of fine dining restaurants. Found the casual meal and lower prices, but with the same attention to quality as more upscale choices. Very pleasant atmosphere inside and great service. Nicely done galettes for the meal. And, a surprise here in wine country, they offer good ciders of the kind normally more available in Normandy. Would go back anytime.
