My husband and I booked the restaurant before we visited Martinique based on the reviews. We were not disappointed although it was a little difficult to get to without a car. However we arrived in time to look around the pottery village and visited the restaurant to ask the owner whether she could order us a taxi back to the ferry after dinner. She was very helpful and took full responsibility for ordering the taxi. When we returned later for dinner she advised us that she hadn't been able to get through to the taxi company but that one of her staff would give us a lift. We were then treated to a superb meal sitting outside with candles and low lighting with the crickets singing. There was even mosquito repellent on the table for us to use. All our menu choices were excellent, my husbands only regret was that he didn't try their Pina Colada! Thank you to Anabela and her staff for looking after us so well and persevering with our less than fluent french.

We wanted a place for lunch and Lucie looked good with the Terrace open to the beach and a good breeze flowing through. I had the columbo poulet and my wife had boudin. Both ere very tasty. Service was good and I would certainly return.

It's hard to state the quality of a restaurant in which you're treated like the enemy. If you're not perfectly introduced to the French language, forget you'll become a friend of the rude owner and cooker, Ernesto. Some How... You can also feel like if being a woman is inappropriate, especially if your're trying to make questions (and receive answers) about the menu and the dishes. Nothing incredible, by the way. Just make a step to the right, and have the same great Panorama from the place beside.

We were happy to find a place with enough English to not look like complete fools. Not only is the staff's English first class, the pizza is great. Highly recommended, we actually tried to go back the next night but it was after 9 and they had closed already. Don't think twice, eat here!

Right next to the main square in Diamant town, this little place has a covered Terrace with great views onto Diamant beach.
The staff and atmosphere is “no pressure”, relaxed, friendly and in-tune with the sound of the waves.
The food is very good (for a beachside bar):
Arras de morue (Cod fritters) with a dipping sauce was 10 for 4.50€
Fisherman’s choice (2 types of small whole fish, with 2 choices of sides) was 14€
Bottle of beer and a soda water were 3€ each.
Would go back without hesitation.

Have eaten at this restaurant several times over two trips and always had the same experience. Having lunch as close as you are to the beach and the famous Diamant Rock is so amazing. The crashing of the waves and the scenery will make you not want to move all day. Combine that with very friendly staff, strong margaritas and fresh food, who could ask for anything more. The only down side to this place is the parking location, not so convenient but not bad enough to lower the rating. I definitely recommend New Cap for lunch. I've only gone once for dinner, food was still very good but because of the darkness you miss the scenery.

We highly recommend this Caribbean restaurant located just steps from the beach. Colorful and friendly atmosphere.
The owner, Nicaise and his team are smiling and friendly and we enjoyed a great price.
We will not fail to return on our next stay in the area ...
Too bad it does not have there Terrace, but this detail is quickly forgotten because it takes a minute to get to the main beach of Diamant which is very convenient.
