Had dinner with my family the last evening at the top a la carte restaurant Stråholmen at Kragerø spa resort. The adults all had the Piggvar filet and it was very good. It could though been served with less potato puret and more fish. Before the main course we all got a nice apertizer complemetary from the kitchen. The children were also happy for the two different child courses made from pasta and chicken and pasta and meatballs.
The two oldest children also tried the chocolate fudge cake for dessert and were very happy.
We had a regular white Bourgogne witch was described and priced as a puligny montrachet in the menu (5xMonoply price is too high even in Norway!)
Together with our espresso we got chocolate truffels also complemetary and they were fantastic.
The waiters were nice and friendly and performed medium level service.
To conclude the food was really nice (also the price), but wine much too expencive. Service: average Norwegian, friendly and not too elegant.

Skåtøy kafé & galleri has its home on the island of Skåtøy. The island offers a beautiful setting for our little café. At our place you can come to get something nice to eat, listen to a koncert, see a galleri opening or get a cop of coffea. We serve mainly Pizza, pai, sandwiches and different desserts. Our guesthouse is called "Haugen". When not used by artists you are welcome to stay there.It has 5 bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. Beautiful view of the water and a big garden.We are able to serve conferences for up to 30 people. To get to us you have to take the ferry from Kragerø. Its a 5 min. trip. If you have your own boat we have 2 parking spaces at the bay closest to the café.Looking forward to seeing you!

Very nice location , good for a break on a walking tour, by going ashore for a boat-tour in Kragero's fantastic skerry guard with its numberous Islands. Always some art to look at and some nice dishes to eat, - and often duirng summer time; som music to listen to.....

Although the service was good the food we ordered was quite bad. If you do find yourself here I recommend you have the pizza as those looked decent enough. The views were nice though.Hi Nadia. Are you sure that this review is correct? We don't serve food at our place so thought this was kinda strange. We hope to see you here for a drink some day. O/

We were pleasantly surprised by the menu: a range of interesting dishes as well as "proper" local food while keeping the prices reasonable; the location of the restaurant is also lovely - central with a view over the fjord. Our experience just got better and better - friendly, helpful, personal service, large portions, everything super fresh, tap water for free... All in all, an experience to be recommended!!

If you are looking for a nice, lively spot located at the waterfront with Norwegian flair and long history, than Tollboden Restaurant is perfect for you. Experience the unique atmosphere in the summertime! We offer live music and a variety of excellent dishes with focus on local incredients - from seefood to pizza. In our wineceller a wide range of wines is waiting to be served to you. We do also offer winetastings for groups of upto 16 persons. We appriciate every single guest and hope to see you soon.

The staff is great and the food is good. The menu is well made and they have a big wine cellar, if you are interested, if not they have "normal" wine as well. Location is perfect and facilities where clean and nice. Prices are as expected in a waterfront city in Norway at summertime. If any they should get new uniforms as they look very tired and worn out, on all of them, clean but warn out.

Order your starter and main ingredient, get your drink order in, pick your own vegetables to be wok'ed. Service was very efficient, staff was friendly and the food was of very high quality. One of my highlights from visiting Kragerø. I shall return.

Great homely feel and good food! The chef was able to cater for me as a vegetarian and the pre xmas decorations made the place feel really nice! Great view also.

Barekoza is a pretty newly established restaurant in Kragerø center.The location is in the little harbour in the center of Kragerø. This an excellent location, and it makes the place very busy, especially in the summer time. And i guess Barekoza is the number one place to hang out on a buzy saturday night in July :)
Locally it is known for great food and fine drinks.
We had assorted sushi dishes and burgers. The Sushi dishes was really fresh and delicious, and was served quite quickly. We tried the burger they had on the menu that day, and it was really juicy, spicy and tastfull. The burgers are grilled on a charcoal grill, wich i personally thinks add an excellent flavour to the meat.
We had whitewine to the dinner, and the waiters wine recomendation suited our course nicely.
Friendly and service minded staff. Price level is pretty normal to be in Norway, so no price shocks.
Overall a very good dining experience.

We were here on a summer day and got a table in the sun. This restaurant is nothing extraordinary, and you do not get that impression when entering either. However, the staff was very polite and the location splendid.
A big plus for gluten free alternatives, as this is not offered in all restaurants in the area.
