We went here on the reviews of fellow TripAdvisor members. The friendly staff made this a very pleasant experience and the food made it a gourmet delight, not something I expected from a small outback town. Congratulations on achieving a huge success. The eggs on toast were amazing, the mushrooms to die for and I’m somewhat a mushroom snob.

I ordered the chicken in whiskey sauce and was surprised how delicious it was. The vegetables were cooked well and not soggy. Had to wait quite some time for the meal but that was because there were a couple of very large tables and the rest of the tables were occupied. The staff were pleasant and courteous. It was good value for money.

In spite of its name the steaks were nothing remarkable. There is a good range of steak types in a choice of weights, and vegetable accompaniments were numerous with large tasty servings, as were the sauces. Our steak meals could best be described as pleasant. There's also a good range of entrees, alternate mains and desserts.
Ambience is in keeping with its bare brick-wall motel dining room origins. The waitress, however, was a real gem.

Each time we are in Glen Innes we pop into Peppermints for lunch. Great country hospitality. Good value food. We always have a ham cheese tomato toasted Sandwich. They have a great selection of homemade biscuits on offer. Pop in and suit his great cafe in Glen Innes.

Stopped here for a coffee. Greeted warmly, coffee served quickly with a smile. Everyone very friendly even the customers are up for a chat with a stranger. They had just started to open at 5am to catch the early traffic. Menu looked good.

Arrived at the restaurant with no booking but very hungry!!! We were met by friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to accommodate us. Service was timely, the food was very tasty and the prices were very reasonable. The owner/manager would check on us at intervals to ensure that all was OK and, when we left, we were fare-welled like old friends. We would definitely return on our next visit to Glen Innes.

Wanted a light healthy lunch on the way home from Byron Bay on Friday. Served chicken salad rolls with froze, cheap chicken. A customer complained and the staff member agreed that the chicken was frozen, but did nothing to compensate. When I had a look the bag of chicken was sitting in the display case. Probably better to say you don't have any chicken than serve this. Will not be back.

Driving around Glen Innes and the kidlets spied KFC, so decided on that for dinner. Ventured in, the line was out the door, however, the two staff on the front counter moved everyone along in a timely fashion. Our turn, ordered, didn't have to wait too long and away we went. Got to the motel, opened the bags and WOW, half was missing, went back to KFC, the manager on was so apologetic, and not only redid our order, he gave us some money back and some freebies (not what we were after). Good for a quick feed though.
