Quaint Mexican restaurant. The food was very good, the homemade salsa excellent. Fair price and plenty of food. Waitress was very helpful and friendly. Do not serve alchohol, but you are welcome to bring your own. Complimentary chips & salsa when we were seated and a tasting of sherbet was served when the waitress brought our check to the table.

This location is convenient but the staff there are obviously and totally clueless. I ordered a large salted caramel truffle blizzard. Now this flavor has been around for over a year. It gets made with cocoa fudge in the vanilla soft serve, just like it says on the DQ website. This location’s staff looked at me like I had two horns growing out of my head when I ordered it. And they made it with caramel in the vanilla soft serve. And there was a huge glob of unmixed caramel at the bottom. Another pet peeve of mine is when they don’t give you the full cup size. I could conservatively put three of my fingers between where the blizzard actually started and the top of the cup. Very poorly mixed and not made correct puts this place at the bottom of my list and a definite DO NOT RECOMMEND and I would NOT go there again. Yes, I am that disappointed. Then my daughter ordered the Reese’s brownie Royal Blizzard. There was certainly nothing total about what she got. It was a small so it should have very easily been mixed all the way through but it was not. The peanut butter Center was a glob if peanut butter at the bottom of the cup. Again, made incorrectly and poorly. It seemed to be a popular location and plenty of people there late at night. Unfortunately, my very high DQ standards prevent me from giving this location more than one star and I would give it less than that if I could.

If you are driving through town and want to stop for lunch, this is another place that can be a good choice. Nothing special, but the food is decent, and the service pretty good.

Tacos Oj

Excellent: Lemonade, Chile relleno plate, crunchy taco plate

Good: tea, chips & salsa

Average: service, cleanliness of establishment

Lousy: queso dip, I’m pretty sure it came from a can

We enjoyed our visit and will be back. Prices are a bit high but the food is good enough we can deal with that.

We stopped in on our way home from Big Bend National Park for a very late lunch. We weren't expecting much because we were eating at an off-time, but we were pleasantly surprised with excellent service, excellent burgers, and some very tasty chili. I highly recommend a stop if you are in the area.

Pepito's Cafe

Reviewed By John V - San Antonio, Texas, United States

While staying overnight in Ft. Stockton, I asked several of the locals, on the best choices to eat in town. Everytime I asked, it was " Pepitos Mexican food !! ". So, figuring the hometown crowd was pointing me in the right direction, I headed their way.

The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a big smile and a friendly welcome. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. While being seated and my drink order taken, I had a few questions for the waitress about the menu as to any recommendations. The beef fajitas or The green Chile chicken enchiladas.. or for a healthier appetite, the Chicken fried steak with green Chile sauce and home cut fries.. it was the way to go for me. A nice cut portion, not overly breaded and just the right amount of gravy..

Pepitos is known for serving authentic Mexican food and I definitely will be back ..I have to try the sizzling fajitas with peppers and onions. I saw several plates leaving the kitchen and many smiles on other people's faces enjoying the food just the same.. The service was great and very attentive, the chips were fresh and crispy and the salsa was amazing. Inside the place, looking around, you'll find it's decorated nicely and it's very clean, which is refreshing. The food was delicious and it was served up HOT !.

We had eaten lunch in Fort Stockton yesterday and found the service to be so lacking at another restaurant in town. Happy to say that this restaurant, however, shines in customer service and food quality and value. The tacos and enchiladas were very well flavored, delicious beans and rice. Our server was friendly and efficient. We will come back again. Salsa and chips

Road Runner Cafe

Reviewed By uphill69 - Pensacola, Florida

Stayed one night at the RV park, too tired to cook. Went for dinner. They advertized "world class chicken fried steak" so I couldn't resist. DW and I went. I ordered the chicken fried steak with fries and the veg of the day. DW ordered the chicken tenders with fries and a side salad. I have eaten Chicken fried steak in KS, OK, TX, AL, MS, and LA.
The Chicken fried steak? I'm not sure which world it was supposed to be the class of but probably Jupiter. Tough, not well prepared, soggy breading. Felt and tasted frozen and thawed. Fries? soggy, tasteless, pre-packaged and pre-cooked tasting. Italian cut green beans? From a can, cooked to death, tasteless.
DW's chicken tenders? Dried out, flavorless, barely edible. Her fries soggy too. Salad from a small self-serve station, hard to screw up but not really a "salad". Waitress was sweet so we didn't want to break her chops.
Time for a new "cook", guys, this was the worst meal we had on the road except fro the Dragon Chinese rest. in Carlsbad that tried to poison me.

We stopped by the Sagebrush during an overnight stay in town. We were pleased at the wide variety of offerings on the menu. Onion rings were outstanding. All day breakfast is possible and the green Chile items are a specialty. Service was prompt and friendly.
