Faxe Ladeplads is a coastal town in Denmark with a population of 2,863 (1 January 2015), located in Zealand and lying 5 kilometers south-east from Faxe. The town is mainly a harbour town with a working harbour and a marina. The town is a local beach-town and is surrounded by forest and sandy beaches with shallow water. The forest stretches all the way to the sea and from the edge you can see towards the island of Møn and the small protected wildlife park, Feddet.

We have been here a couple of times on trips to see family in Denmark. There is something special about a family run restaurant which combined with Danish coziness makes one feel truly at home. Nicholas Darks cooking is excellent, both Danish staples and some talented modern European cooking and is served by a team led by his wife Lise whose attention to detail sets this restaurant apart from the normal... Go if you are near, or indeed if you aren't.

Vi har været to gange på "Cafe langt ude" (tidligere Cafe bistroen) de ny ejere gør det rart at spise på Cafe Langt ude. De gir en hurtig og kompetent betjening og deres nye tiltag med blandt andet mulighed for at buffet frokost søndag før afrejse er yderst gode.
Maden er velsmagende og priserne rimelige.

They have great cakes, a very interesting little shop, and very nice people. But for me the most astonishing thing was that they were able to make decaf latte! Which, in Denmark, is very rarely seen. Another plus was great wifi. I was able to get a lot of work done while enjoying my coffee :-)

Great place for burger and pizza when having a movie night. Burgers where home cooked and the fries as we wanted them. Friendly folks. Would have liked it even better, if they had a better beer selection.

Prøvede deres lørdags buffet, der består af 2 stege med tilbehør og fri salatbar. Der var urtemarineret svinekam og kalveculotte, kødet var veltilberedt. Stort udvalg i salatbar, dog mente en i selskabet at der manglede ærter. Der er også mulighed for suppe. Café Højen har både menukort, og forskellige "buffet" henover ugen. Udsigten er god fra restauranten, som der ligger sammen med golfklub. Vil gerne komme igen en anden gang.

Rødvig Kro & Badehotel is a charming old inn with a lovely restaurant with a breathtaking view of Stevns Klint and the East Sea. Lunch and dinner is served in the beautiful dining rooms with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The food is home made and prepared with local ingredients and care.

Rødvig Hotel og Kro has a cozy restaurant and the food - at least the lunch - is very good. From the inn´s restaurant there is a beautiful view to the ocean. We tried the "Frokost Platte"
with hering, pork tenderloin, fish filet, salmon, cheese ect. and we could hardly finish it. Staff very kind and helpful. Good and profesional service as well

Foreningen "Harmonien" er stiftet af 10-15 skippere i 1888 med det formål at tilvejebringe en bygning med samlings- og rekreationslokaler ved Rødvig samt at opsamle et fond til understøttelse for trængende beboere og søfolk samme- steds.Den første bestyrelse, hvis formand blev skipper H.P. Nielsen, antog det laveste tilbud på opførelse af bygningen til kr. 4820,- fra murermester Jens Jensen Store Heddinge, og allerede 1. Oktober samme år kunne restaurationen åbnes med Peder Hansen som vært.Foreningen trivedes, og medlemmerne hyggede sig med middagsmad til 50 øre, smørrebrød til 6 øre, Carlsberg til 12 øre, snaps til 4 øre, og omsætningen de første 3 måneder beløb sig til kr. 1436,27.Derefter byggedes en rejsestald i 1889, og salen og restaurationslokalerne blev udvidet og moderniseret i 1939, ligesom hestestalden i 1969 blev ombygget til omklædningslokaler med bad osv. til brug for ungdommen ved udøvelse af forskellige slags sport og idræt.Siden har Harry Böckmann overtaget Harmonien , hvor han laver lækker mad af god kvalitet, men tjek vores produktudvalg på vores hjemmeside.

For the money, you do not find kinder service or better food in Rødvig. We recently (Febr. 2016) had a reception for 70 people, followed by a dinner for 24. Everything was fine, except they forgot that we had asked them to put out the name cards according to our table plan. But then again, one waiter fell ill on the afternoon, so out of planned four, they were one short.

Visited on a Monday when everything else is closed in this region, out of need really. We both had Moussaka which came out of the microwave, tasted OK it wasn't great as Moussaka goes, the beers we had were good, the service friendly and efficient, prices very reasonable, but good it wasn't if you one for good food...
