The restaurant here offers wonderful gourmet dining. This is a very fine restaurant with a staff that brings freshly prepared food, extremely well presented, creative, and very tasty to the table. A very good wine selection accompanies the menu. Great cheeses, desserts, and coffee are also part of a wonderful meal here. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and do a great job. Most of the food is all supplied locally. Wonderful!

Visited yesterday, 13th, lovely cup of coffee but more importantly the very best scone in Ireland, crisp, light, buttery and utterly delicious. Outstanding baking, reminds me once again just why scones are a thing.
Pub/Restaurant itself is a lovely, light filled, warm but airy space, beautiful interior that just invited you to stay. I'll be back for dinner but this is a place for scone pilgrimage!

Love the atmosphere in this pub. The staff are super friendly. Great food. I loved the lamb dish with stuffing. The potato leek soup is a must. Every evening that we were there, there was live music. You must stop in here. The fireplace warmed us up after being outside hiking all day.

The Roadside Tavern

PUB OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND 10AM TILL LATE FOOD SERVED FROM MARCH UNTIL NOVEMBER 12-4 6-9 EVERYDAY Last orders 8.45 In spring 2011, Peter Curtin embarked on a new endeavour: He set up the Burren Brewery in the Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna. The building, which in 1865 started off as a pub, then was expanded into a bakery, now also harbours a micro-brewery under its roof. At the same time it is an eatery and a renowned music venue for traditional and contemporary music. Peter realised very quickly how complicated and time-consuming it was to brew his own beer - it really is a labour of love. He enrolled the help of a Master Brewer, and the result can now be tasted in the Roadside Tavern: The Burren Gold is a delicious, characterful lager. The mainstream lagers available every-where just cannot compete with this one!The Burren Red with its great red colour is a spicy, slightly sweet ale which even features a hint of smoke. It seems to become the favourite among the punters at the Roadside! The Burren Black is a stout that does not have to fear the competition of a certain other black stuff. It is smooth and full-bodied, with a creamy crown of froth on top - and definitely alive inside! A heavenly drink.

I absolutely loved our evening here. We were offered on arrival a choice of tables near the musicians or else slightly away. As we are all great talkers we opted for the quieter spot, just right to enjoy the wonderful (most polished and very cheery and of course as would one expect in West Clare, authentic) Irish music. I loved the decor, I have a match for one of their old prints on the wall at home, I was very amused to see. The menu was terrific, I love to see bacon and cabbage on a menu which I see so rarely, this one was really great with an extremely tasty mash. The fish was also really good, I was sorry I hadn't room for both. I was so pleased that the waitress let me know they had local stout, it was a great treat I would recommend. I enjoyed this spot no end and hope to get back here soon. I wish I lived beside this place!

Can't speak more highly of Roadford House. With a varied and delicious menu, Marion and her team handled a large (14 person) group with great warmth and efficiency. Food was outstanding, including local fish, and the wine list was imaginative and reasonably priced. Also helped with pub recommendations and cabs on a busy Saturday night. "I never knew Ireland could be this good" was the refrain from all. Wonderful.

We have dined here several times. The service and food can vary. We would have a preference for more consistency. Sometimes excellent service and food, other occasions not as we would have expected. Very important to have the owners on hand to oversee customer service, quality of food. On one dinner night out the wine we requested was not what was served. Simple mistake, shouldn't have happened in a restaurant with a good reputation. Overall nice place to dine out in, but and unfortunately there is a but which I hope can be attended to and rectified.

We were staying at the Doolin Hotel and decided to have breakfast out even though the hotel offers a free breakfast. We enjoyed Doolin Cafe's quaint space while eating our breakfast. Note: pulling out of the Doolin Cafe's parking lot can be tricky. There is a blind spot to the right, not being able to see the oncoming cars. Since there were two of us, the passenger went to the other side of the road to direct the driver out of the driveway safely.
