Went with my colleague from work. The food was plenty as we ordered mixed grilled, the taste was ok not wow at all . the decoration was nice

Since some time now, this castle is under new management. Young and ambitious management no doubt after the last owner had trouble making it work. We have been here a couple of times, and the castle itself is absolutely beautifully restored. The kitchen itself tries to be high class dining and the price is accordingly. However, I am not sure if they really know what they are doing. The menu (on a clipboard!), only has THREE main course items. One fisch, one meat and one vegetarian. Better to take the suprise menu (3 , 4 or 5 courses), which seem to offer an economic and more exciting choice. You can tell them your preferences and dislikes. We took the 5 course meal, but strangely we got 2 sweet desert courses. That does not really feel like. On the other hand, the waiter/owner certainly has enthusiasm for wine and knows his stuff. I just wished he did not have to almost whisper it in my ear.
Overal, it shows that they need cut expenses whereever they can and generate a profit. That will not be easy in quite a provincial town like Coevorden, and the quality is certainly not at the level of the prices. Not bad, but just not good enough in serveral respects.

We have eaten at too many Chinese restaurants to count. This ranks with the best of them. The positives: friendly and accommodating staff, delicious, fresh food, quick service, clean restaurant, fair prices, good sized portions, tremendously varied menu. You shouldn't walk away hungry after your meal here.

This time we had the WOK diner. It was so good! You could choose your veggies, meat, fish and the cooks would WOK IT! watch them prepare your food it was so much fun! A really good day :)

Stayed in Talens hotel for one week and had dinner in Talens resturant 3 times. I was surprised by the food quality. Tried different meals each time and they were all above expectation. The service was slow in most of the times, but they doesn't make me hesitate give it 4 stars. The location of the resturant / hotel is just perfect close to the center and a walking distance from the train/bus station.

This was the worst meal i have had in a VERY, VERY long time!!! I had a schnitzel which came with mushroom sauce. The sauce came from a packet, the schnitzel was soggy and had no taste. The owner / waitress was not from the Netherlands, in a very foul mood. We should have kniwn it was bad when we hardly saw anyone eating there. The prices are not worth the food!! Do not waste your money!! Eetcafes are usually so nice to go to but this one was nothing like dutch restaurants "gezellig" atmosphere. We left without having dessert as we couldn't bare eating such bad quality food!

Icecream parlor is the town center of Coevorden. Very nice icecream that comes in many flavors. Great coffee as well.

(Lunch) menu offers a wide variety of dishes, at an affordable price. Wraps and hamburgera are highly recommended. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere in general is very cozy.

Basically wandered in as it was one of the few restaurants in the town centre. It is a well lit, and warm place - not very large, but with friendly and responsive staff. The patrons at this restaurant are of all ages. The ambiance, somehow both traditional and trendy.
The food is excellent, with large portions. Fresh and wholesome. The Mushroom Soup is to kill for, and if you order just a platter of bread with dips you'll get much more than most can handle. Dutch sizes I guess. Lovely little place. Will go there again when I'm back in this little town, which I have become affectionate towards.
