I hadn't been here in many years ( 15 +), but I remembered that the peanut coleslaw was amazing.
It still is.
However, the bbq itself was a bit of a letdown. The sauce was more bitter than I prefer, and the meat not as lean.
Super busy, and still super popular, so it obviously agrees with local tastes .
Get there early, or be prepared to wait a long time.

Saddle Peak Lodge

We’ve been here several times when shooting in Thousand Oaks. Great place right off Malibu Canyon Drive. Food is always wonderful. I prefer eating outside to inside. Service is excellent. Waiter insisted that one of our ‘well done’ elk tenderloin orderers go medium rare. He’s usually adamant but she was insistent...and right. He really enjoyed the elk. We brought old wine and the sommelier did a great job with the difficult corks and enjoyed a taste of the wine, an old Pinot. All of the game is great. Salads were fine. THe sweet corn soup is amazing. Don’t miss the Maple Johnnycake although I’d order it for dessert. All in all this is a different look and feel than most other places in and around LA and well worth the relatively short and beautiful drive.

Again, I like to review coffee places because I'm fussy about Coffee. This place is pretty good, the only problem is that it's not consistent. Sometimes they make it good, and sometimes not. I find that Starbucks is always consistent. There is a really nice water fountain outside this place, so it's a nice place to sit. If you don't like how the coffee tastes, you can always ask them to make it again, and they will.

We were driving on the 101 Highway to Santa Barbara and I searched for bakeries. Just needed a little something sweet to enjoy. Was not disappointed and would frequent them often if I lived in the area. I am gluten free and there were a few pasteries that worked for me. Delicious and sweet but not overpoweringly sweet. Enjoyed our treats!!

Tifa Chocolate and Gelato

Reviewed By Dylmol - Los Angeles, California

We heard about Tifa from a friend, we went out on a sat afternoon with the kids. Ashley was very warm and friendly, and had the patience of a saint- while we asked for 'tastes' of all the wonderful choices of gelato they have. The waffle cones are made on the counter and everything feels very authentic and homely. We loved everything we got,and the kids had the homemade cookies and chocolates. I tried one of their cappuccinos. All good! Its nice to have family businesses like this who focus so hard on the quality of the product and have staff who offer genuine warm service. We will be back again... and again.... and again.. Enjoy!

Wonderful place. It can get a little bit crazy during rush hour, around lunch time, making the wait time quite long. Take advantage of calling in your order so that it's ready for lunch. Fresh ingredients and great portions. Love the crusty bread!

Pedalers Fork

Pedalers Fork is a lifestyle concept that seeks to incorporate great food, cycling and awesome coffee into one location where all are welcome. We are a farm direct restaurant partnered with 10 Speed Coffee Roasters from Hood River Oregon, serving craft beers, a fresh bar, and a boutique cycling shop in Calabasas, CA. Here at Pedalers Fork, we believe that good food begins with amazing ingredients. Because of this, we have worked tirelessly to find and build relationships with the best local growers and ranchers. The quality of our fruits, produce, meats, and fish enables us to craft dishes that highlight the true flavors that are inherent in the respective ingredients. No matter the meal, we want our patrons to walk out of Pedalers Fork feeling whole, healthy, and a part of the community we are building.

A place that tries to be too many things can often fall into the trap of doing a bunch of things just OK, and nothing really great. Pedalers Fork is a prime example of this unfortunately. is it a coffee shop? A bike store? A breakfast/lunch place? A restaurant for dinner? A bar? This ambitious spot tries to be all of these things. The confusion is first encountered with their website, which I visited this afternoon as we looked for a place to have dinner.

Once you arrive, the situation never really clarifies itself. We were seated in the bar at a tall table with a couple of TV's on without sound as the Olympics were on, and music ruled the room. No problem with that, as the music was eclectic. We were told no seats outside left under heaters, but once seated it was clear that there were several there. Strangely "reserved" signs were on some outside tables although they remained empty throughout our visit.

The menu is ambitious with a good vegan set of offerings sprinkled through it. Our entrees were very average. The sandwich was dry and very unimaginative. The whole chicken very dry and plain. Appetizers and salads were better, but marginally so.

A sandwich, a half chicken, a salad, some hummus, and one glass of wine each and the bill comes in over $80. Now I appreciate that good food costs money, and if you check my other reviews it is never about the cost of a good meal. The experience at Pedlars Fork didn't come close to living up to the cost on our visit.

The space is a very pleasant setting and quite large. The outdoor patio is very nice. I may give it one more go and stop by when out on a bike ride during the day and enjoy what must be a casual vibe. If we are going o ut to dinner though, this is not a stop we would make again. There are better options in the area for the price.

I had been driving for Uber and was getting hungry. Marmalade always has generous servings and fine service. This time, I ordered the Spicy Chorizo Eggs Benedict with a side of potatoes (and I specified crispy). Everything was as it should be. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the chorizo was spicy, as promised, and my potatoes were crispy. My server kept my coffee cup topped off and I was happy.

Would have given it 5 stars, but even WITH RESERVATIONS there wass at least a 15 minute wait...and service was avg. at best. Had to ask for bread to be warmed...to me that is expected....especially when it is such great, crusty bread! Lobster was excellent, but small for the price.
