When we arrived ist was a bit to early, so the restaurant was empty. And you know the feeling then......... But it was the only restaurant that was open we could find.
But the good thing is, the Portuguese owner had all the time for us. So he did some advice what to eat and we ordered a menu with traditional made local specialties.
Including the best meat ever served on a sword at the table...
Very nice atmospherics.. Thanks for that.

Before going to this restaurant, already some friends had spoken to me as well. I checked on Tripadvisor and found that the reviews were in line with what I was told.
The truth is that this roadside restaurant that does not seem to convince by his external appearance, had is car park full, and that seemed to be a good sign!
The staff is friendly and the food is really good and we quickly realize that the quality of food (the raw material!) is no longer easily to find..
It is a typical restaurant, with typical Portuguese food, but with a well above average quality. Certainly to repeat

We have gone to this restaurant hoping that it would be a typical restaurant, with local gastronomy.
The food is not that good, and is expensive.
The ambience is quite bad. There really isn't one.
The person who served us wasn't kind.
I wouldn't recommend it. There are far better alternatives.

Lovely friendly atmosphere and great service. The food is very tasty and there is an excellent array of starters. Great sellection of Portuguese wines to go with the food and the "house" dessert is divine.

Lost of words to qualify this little typical Portuguese restaurant. The place is very small, but well decorated, clean, and the staff is just wonderful. This restaurant as Portuguese food, very tasteful. The amount of food is just extraordinary and the price is unbelievable. Two people, wine and desert 20€. Just excellent

I have eaten at this restaurant on numerous occasions when I am in the area and it never disappoints. This is a very nice and cosy family restaurant. Interior is a little dated, but it suits the atmosphere, because here they are without prententions. The cooking is adequate and just falls short in creativity and adventure. Here you taste the 'rural' Portugese cuisine, prepared well. We were here several times and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. And let's not forget to mention the very friendly staff!

We were on a trip to our holiday destination and needed lunch. We stopped in the centre of Cabeceiras do Basto for a snack and stepped in Bar Turismo. Not a lot of people were there and nobody was eating but we decided to stop here. The person helping us was very friendly and had no problem heating up our baby's food. Neatly in a bowl of the house.
Lots of simple snacks on the menu; Kebab, hamburgers and different types of Francesinhas. My kids had the kebab and my wife and I took the 'full monty' Francesinhas and a coke for all. All was correctly made and definitely more than enough food for all of us. After we had a Carte d'or ice-creams and for the 5 of us it costs us a little under 50 euro. A good snack, a good price and a good service. We enjoyed it!

The restaurant "Green Valley" is the ideal place for lunch, dinner or just for a snack in the evening, always surprising its visitors with the most iconic and appetizing dishes of the region and country location. The Green Valley restaurant and its Chef prepared a special menu for you, come try.
A limited menu. Good service although some difficulties to understand English. Food was brought in with perfect timing. Size of the plates were BIG. Everyone will have enough! All in all good quality for a cheap price,

Restaurant is located in an old school and looks great. Unfortunately the cooking is not very special. We had the 'arroz de pato' (duck with rice), which was rather dry and what could easily been mistaken for chicken. Hardly any taste to speak of. Cooking without fantasy and creativity, which is also shown in how the plates are made up (piece of chocolate pie for desert even without a slice of orange; it's not so difficult, folks!). We were there on a sunday night, which is always a difficult time for restaurants in Portugal. You feel like your stuck with the leftovers from lunch. Maybe we give the place another change on a weekday... Just maybe.
