We have eaten several times at the Abthaus and this time we had Grunkohl which is very seasonal local dish. Fantastic wine list, excellent friendly service and splendid value. A must do.

The service in this newly renovated hotel's restaurant is the best we have experienced in a while. The food was of a very high standard and not the 'heavy' plenty food that most of the German restaurants serve; more European. The staff were very welcoming and the restaurant is intimate.

The place is basically devided in five areas:
outside Seating
bar area / Seating
high Seating area
large table area
outside in the garden Seating
thus a rather large place.
service was outstanding - always with a smile.
we had some delicious starters (salad + goat cheese) and then one Flammkuchen each, which was plenty of food.
we'll be back soon!

Went here for a business meal. Really good quality food. Both the fish starter and main course were delicious. The dessert, usually my least favour course, was a selection of small Deserts - creme brûlée, pear ice cream, chocolate mouse - and was very artistic and delicious. Wine and beer enjoyable too. Service attentive and despite the size of our group we were served in reasonable time and the food still acceptably warm. Pleasant surroundings too.

I visited this pub/restaurant during a business trip to Hamburg. The place was very busy, which is always a good sign. A lot of families and groups of people lending a nice atmosphere. It was particularly busy during this period, probably due to the Euro 2016 football tournament which was being screened inside.
I was seated inside at a table which was close to a busy corridor, so I had a lot of servers and customers passing by. But, as I was on my own it wouldn't make much sense to block off a larger or nicer table for just one person. The staff were friendly and reasonably-well attentive.
I ordered steak; the meal was OK; I have no complaints about it, but equally it doesn't stand out in my memory like other restaurants have from that trip.

This is clean pan-Asian food cooked for a German palette. The helpings are quite hearty and saucy and the food is quite salty. Items marked 'scharf' are truly adorable. We'll get you there eventually rural Germany, just keep pushing those taste buds!
