Margaritas

Cyclades traditional cuisine with aegean view!!!

If you are visiting Anafi, Margarita's should be the first and last restaurant you will eat! The food is delicious, with fresh ingredients and unique combinations of flavors. We tried a bit of everything but I particularly enjoyed the homemade pasta, chickpeas patties and - of course - the pies! Service was excellent and very reasonable prices! Highly recommended!

It is hard not to pass by this restaurant when visiting the town of Anafi. It is located exactly at the main parking lot of the town and that its main view on offer, cars, more cars, occasionally busses and not to forgot plenty of wind. Actually on my 6 day trip to Anafi I am struggling to recall a single time where this place was relatively calm in terms of wind. It literally blows you away. While the view is not is not its strongest point the food is. Since the owner is one of the two fisherman on the island (or so I’ve been told, the other one is the owner of Liotrivi restaurant) you can rest assured that you are treating yourself with the freshest fish out there. We visited the restaurant twice The first time we tried the Fried Red Mullets (as a primi) which were very crunchy, relatively light and very tasty and for main a rather large grilled Sea Bream. It was tender, soft and moist. The accompanied Greek Salad was just ok similar to the local green wild leaves. I was expecting more from their tomatoes, I was missing the fruity smell of them. The bill was ok-ish at 58E with over a kilo of fresh ones you are satisfied.
We returned for a second round, 2 days later and ordered again their fried Red Mullets along with a grilled Skoprina . Both tasted as expected with the Skorpina being even tenderer than the Sea Bream. The Greek salad and green leaves did not disappoint but left more to desired. That time we went overboard by ordering also the oven tomato roasted chickpeas. A very tasty little plate that actually suited our combination nicely. The bill was just below 65E.
The girl serving was very pleasing both times and made every effort to assist in our every need.
A place just for fish lovers, if you are looking for other types of “romance” or treats search elsewhere.

We had lunch at this family-run restaurant, which had a great sea view! We had roasted rabbit and fried calamari cooked by a nice lady who sang in the kitchen while enjoying the cooking. The rabbit was softly-cooked and delicious, whereas the calamari was not deep fried and also very fresh. Very reasonably priced for our lunch (especially compared to Islands like Santorini)
We passed by the restaurant again at night and saw they have girls selling hand-made jewelry as well, which maybe worth taking a look if you are looking for small souvenirs for friends and family.

During our three holidays in Anafi we had several dinners at this resteraunt as it was highly recommended.
The food is in reality good and there is a good selection of fish, vegetable and meat dishes.
Unfortunately the service is very poor and the management shows a very unfriendly and unpleasant attitude especially towards no Greek customers.
Very disappointing competing to other Tavernas where owners are happy to see recurrent clients.

To Liotrivi

'Liotrivi' is housed in one of the oldest motor mills of Anafi. Three generations of family Kolydas passed the threshold. The inhabitants of the island for more than 100 years the oil produced in the year. Τhe groves are in every mountain ravine. The collection take place during the month of October. The place where today is the kitchen of the restaurant was the main production area. There was a large cauldron, one area where washed-cleaned olives and the pulper. The main pressing machine which is preserved. Dated around 1930. Originally functioned through the muscular strength of animals and later the internal combustion engine. The merger procedure was as follows: olives washed and cleaned of any leaves, then placed in towels, poured hot water and mashed by the press. The oil and water resulted in a large vessel which was covered by a wooden roof. Periodically opened the towels, they mixed the dregs of olives - and continue the process until drain off all the oil. Finally, after removing the wooden roof, the olive producer and the owner of mill sat and counted the oil with the use of a large seashell. The 'Liotrivi' is a family business operating since 2004, with quality and hospitality. With raw materials originating from the farm of the family. Fish from the fishing vessel 'CAPTAIN TASOS' traditional designation wine 'SEKLEMIS' by Mr. Kolydas.

We came there for my birthday and it was really, really nice... it has a really nice view, very good food, friendly staff and the prices are reasonable. It is always full in the evenings, so that shows how good it is too... so I guess in August you should make a reservation ;) We loved the most moussaka which really melts in your mouth, super soft octopus and the zucchini balls.

visiting Anafi with our speed boat and after enjoying swimming to amazing water, we were looking for a taverna to have lunch. We were sure that at the port of Anafi there must be a restaurant, at least one and there was Akrogiali... arriving at the port we could see a big sign RESTAUTANT CAFE, a mini market and a cafe... that is all. At first sight you don't get the best impression about this restaurant as it is quite old and simple but after having lunch and receiving this kindness from people working there, i said to them and to myself, that is will be back very soon. The fish was the best and most fresh fish i ever had. fresh fried potatoes, lovely greek salad, cold beer and a smile from all staff. What else to ask!!! thank you very much for this lovely lunch. We are coming back for the fish soup (kakavia).
