Amazing service. Great staff, especially with children. A highlight is Tio Caramelo. They’re very thoughtful and caring. Food is superb, rooms are good and drinking is a little bit pricey. Make sure to visit the water park they include, which is also a must visit.

Aldeia Da Praia Hotel

Disappointed

Reviewed By André S

Lowlights: first, this hotel does not deserve to be a 4 stars hotel. I would rate as 3 stars but with a struggle. Be aware that you cannot book rooms for your family members (using your own credit card) so if someone arrives first he/ she will need a credit card for himself/ herself. If you use Booking there is no information available about it, which can be painful on arrival when dealing with payments. Service is very slow, staff do not know the menu and forget about ordering wine or even fish!! Wine will be hot and fish with a weird sea taste. The hotel needs remodeling as it is quite old. You can hear a lot of noises early in the morning due to acoustic issues (and we were not lucky during our stay: a lot of impolite people screaming early in the morning). It definitely does not worth the money they charge so I would look for other options in the city, which I was told lacks of alternatives. We had lunch at the Jardim Atlântico Resort and we had very good impressions - and surprise it is also a 4 stars. Highlights: breakfast, if you are lucky enough to be on Tapioca's day. And to be fair they have friendly staff working over there.

I was here with my wife, we had a lovely time. During the day we enjoyed the pool area with really nice music and happy people. All people working is really nice and service minded, specially Luciano Brito. We got a lot of support and recommendations about drinks, food from him. At night we went to the restaurant and they had live music that was really good. Next year we will come back with our family. As they also have a lot of activities for children. I can highly recommend this hotel!

Relax at the beach

Reviewed By stephengvaughan

Mar Paraiso is located on a clean, calm beach--and very quite in November during Covid-19. Double rooms are a bit small, so my wife and I booked a triple room. Great breakfast buffet (and you can order dishes too) starts at 07h00...everything else is on beach time, starting later in the day. Odd that there is no laundry service at the hotel and you will have to go into the village to get clothes cleaned (Diva's was great for 1 day service). For exercise you can walk on the beach or rent a fat bike. You can also work up a sweat walking up to the village centre for dinner in the evening (most places only open at 18h00). Frosty beer, caiparinhas and tropical cocktails are easy to find. The hotel restaurant provides a good service, and you order food and drinks poolside. The soups, seafood and fish are good the hotel but skip the beef. In town, the Italian food is everywhere, seafood is fresh and tasty, and sushi was excellent. Very good value for money.

Hotel in a good location but a disappointing beach

This hotel is good and has a very good buffet breakfast and I also enjoyed the evening buffet there. However, the beach which the hotel overlooks is difficult to access and also has a large building site next to it. The wifi is shocking and it is almost an exaggeration to say that it exists. In the rooms it keeps cutting out and in the restaurant it is not available at all in some parts

Unpleseant staff and one of the worst hotel breakfasts I've ever had

Reviewed By ps4gamer

My stay at this low budget hotel wasn't pleasant at al. The rooms are nice enough for what you pay for. The room I was given was at the top floor and for whatever reason the lift does not go all the way up there, so I had to get off one flooer before mine then carry two large suitcases up 2 flights of stairs. Annoying but not the worst part of my stat. In my room there was a power switch in my room and hummed the whole night and made it difficult to sleep. That is very unusual in my opinion. The breakfast was absolutely vile. I don't mind a simple breakfast but a disgusting one? The coffee was diabolical and they kept running out of things all the time and it would take ages for the staff to replenish the items. The absolute worst part of how unfriendly and unhelpful all but one of the receptionists were. A young man that the morning shift has a very arrogant attitude and could. The girls were less obnoxious but equally unhelpful and seemingly apathetic. The only staff member that was trained to be courteous and helpful was a really nice guy that I can't remember the name that worked the night shift. One thing to be aware of is that they don't have a storage room to keep luggage in case you have a late flight and need to go somewhere else to kill time until your flight. I left my luggage at reception and they just left it there which made me very nervous as Salvador is an extremely dangerous city. I would not recommend this hotel to any one.
