Hotel room & amenities: Not clean, very old, the bed sheet got stained everywhere, the hotel has maintenance equipment scattered everywhere, the pool water was slightly green colour so we do not use it at all. There are water feature next to the KOI pond that made with paint buckets. Service: Bad service, the hotel manager Rama does not want to help when we encountered problem, and he assured follow up but never come back to us. Overall, horrible experience, will never go back.

Not worth for the price
Reviewed By Tientien318Not enough food provided during the stay. The room I booked and topped up (around RM200+) for part seaview (deluxe room) but got only part pool view. And I have been told most of the deluxe room is pool view, only 2 rooms are with a little seaview which is first come first served. I was wondering my room is similar to standard room (which stated in the information side with pool view), however the staff told me that standard room is far and without pool view, there are garden/hill view. It is a huge misleading information on website and to agent. The staff who served me is not friendly. I do not enjoy the stay, it does not worth for the money I paid.

Reviewed By brendajm23Great chalet. Clean and spacious. Delicious food..we had all our meals there...including afternoon tea...which was scrumptious. Every meal we had was tasty and did not have that sad hotel food taste. Had morning yoga with Bruce who was such fun and he was so very helpful at suggesting what else we could do ...and there were SWINGS on the beach! Nice big swings that we sat on every evening and morning and everytime we walked to the beach. We had also had the aromatherapy massage and that was simply lovely. The short snorkeling trip at pulau Renggis was great and the boatmen were kind and polite . Had a wonderful holiday and I hope to go back again one day

Reviewed By Azian AMy husband and I had a wonderful stay at Japamala Tioman and our vacation turns out as what we have imagined. We were fetched from the arrival jetty to Japamala which is only a short distance away on their speed boat and welcomed by their very friendly staff Bell and Zai and other staff already waiting at Japamala jetty which is their most iconic spot. We love the resort ambiance - feels tranquil, calm, serene and we could just lay down under the gazebo not realizing the time passes by quickly. We love love love our sea cliff chalet with the balcony overlooking the jetty. We enjoyed the daily evening drinks / cocktails served at the Mandi Mandi Restaurant cum the jetty and looked forward to it everyday during out stay. We have no complaint about the food / menu - selections from Tamarind and Tempio are equally interesting. We enjoyed the hike from Japamala to the nearby village which was not a walk in the park but was interesting and challenging nevertheless. We feel many parts of the wooden bridges should be repaired / change to make the trail safer. The only disappointment was that the trail to the view point is closed as we were told it was not safe as the wooden steps leading to the view point were broken. All resort staff were friendly and I had an enjoyable time chatting with Zai. We loved it here and we will not hesitate to come back here again in the future.

Reviewed By hemanathanp2022Had a 3D 2N stay , i understand that it is post pandemic now , i suggest that the resort hire more people to accommodate the incoming influx of guest. 1) Room service - Horrible , had to remind them constantly to clean the room. And the sheets of the beds were only made and changed every other day ( not daily ) ( apparently there is only 3 people working and it is difficult ) 2) Food - The menu and the waiting duration for the food at the resort café is ridiculous. The staff seemed over whelmed with the number of people and influx of orders. Apart from these 2 short comings - the location and the resort facility itself is good. will definitely consider another trip there. hopefully the food and room service issue is sorted.

They just couldn't do enough for us from the boat that picked us up at the jetty to the warm welcome on the beach. Eimah and the owner really take care of the guests. They went out of their way to cook special meals for our kids. It felt like we were staying in the home if an old family friend. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are simple but incredibly clean. The kids loved the bunk beds. We swam at the perfectly clean beach sorklled and went in the Kayak. They organised an excursion for us in their boat. Just a really really wonderful place to stay if you are going to Tioman this is definitely the best place to stay. Beautiful, peaceful, simple and welcoming but the warmth of the staff and the care they take make it a sublime experience

A nice cozy place
Reviewed By cheng88Enjoy the 3 days 2 nights stay especially with the warm hospitality of the staff. The lobby will be a good place to relax , with a drink and a book in hand plus the quiet environment. It will be good if can sell some snacks, especially needed after the snorkelling trip.

Reviewed By MiaMint1981Amazing long beach ~~ We stayed 2N at seaview room , beach was just door step out. Room is basic and clean, mini fridge , TV, kettle , towel etc.. The snorkeling package was very nice. Enjoy the quiet beach and seafood dinner. Nothing much but stunning for me.

Reviewed By ELAYTEEStayed here for 1 night in a superior twin room @ 170myr / £31. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. All of the Housekeeping, security, front desk, restaurant and pool attendants we spoke with were very nice. We would return for a short stay in the future. Tons of free parking available and whilst the pool is not huge its big enough for a few laps. It is also nice that the kid and adult pools are segregated a bit in my opinion. The room itself was clean and of a decent standard. The AC was good, the wifi was decent and it was fairly spacious. Its a tiny bit dated, and if you look carefully and nit pick you can find a few issues such as light switches not working, room phone not dialing, old fixtures in the bathroom and sealant/fascia coming away on the sink. None of this was a major issue though and hard to complain at this price. Breakfast was included but I assume due to not having enough guests it was not a buffet, but a set menu. We had Nasi Lemak and it whilst it was tasty, the protein was quite small and bony. This is not unique to this hotel though so maybe I need to adjust to local portion sizes instead lol. Gym was very good for a hotel gym. Clean and with decent equipment including a few free weights. AC works to an adequate standard. Beach is right at the rear of the hotel. Water was quite rough on our visit and there were a few dirty spots (e.g. what looked like a smokers area with tons of discarded butts). Its OK but hard to rate the beach as I did not stay long enough. We did not go golfing so no comment there.

The second way is to fly, on Berjaya Air from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Again our speedboat will transfer you to the resort. One of the resort representatives will meet you on your arrival at the airport. ( For flight and ferry transfers you need to inform us in advance to arrange this transfer.)We have 18 rooms at the resort, which are perfectly clean, well maintained and all with incredible views. We serve authentic local food for evening dinner, changing its theme every night. Lunches are ala-carte and a mix of local and western.You will also enjoy a variety of cool beverages served at our restaurant and beach Bar. Watch the sunset with a tasty cocktail or have a glass of wine over dinner. Our room rates included half board, which is breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner.Some of the activities offered at the resort are, snorkelling, scuba diving, jungle tracking, fish feeding, fishing and island tours.The facilities which are available are, The Minang Spa, private jetty & beach, sun deck with loungers, sun shades, a library, fully equipped dive centre (with resident instructor) , laundry service and baby sitting. Room as well as beach towels provided.The overall atmosphere is very chilled and relaxed. Helpful, friendly staff providing an unforgettable experience, in your Island Paradise.
Spartan and fabulous - 4 days of perfect beachfront low-key living

Close enough you're not enduring an endless private boat ride after your ferry trip... The rooms are spartan. The food is mostly buffet - a blend of western and Malay. We have a picky teenage eater. He did fine. You don't come for the food. Great bar. Great service and staff. Why Tioman - and specifically Minang Cove: the crystal blue water. The perfect cove for kids to swim. Family snorkeling off of an extremely healthy reef right off the beach. Plus a certified dive master and boat straight from the resort at a super reasonable rate. They offered kayaks, snorkel gear, beach toys for kids. Plus the beach furniture was in really good shape - so you could actually relax beachside in comfort. We had a 16-year old, two 8 year olds and two five year olds and four adults. Everyone found their groove. The resort has a private freshwater spring - so the drinking water was filtered off of that. Good bathrooms and access from the beach. And the staff was so kind. They let my daughter play with the kitten near the kitchen. Sophia - the proprietor's daughter - was our amazing bar tender and child-entertainer. She had the kids doing jumps off the pier into the clear deep blue water. And the secret adventure of minang cove - the evening reef shark feeding - it dazzled everyone. (and we all felt very safe swimming in the water the next day.) THANK you Sophia!! A great four day family vaca. Loved loved it.
