Novotel Chumphon Resort is a 4 star hotel on Parandonpab Beach, 15 km south of Chumphon town. A perfect place for a family holiday or stop off during the trip to southern Thailand. The resort is easily accessible by road and rail and one hour by boat from Koh Tao. 9 holes-golf course attached with the resort offering 86 rooms, excellent meeting facilities and two restaurants serving an array of local seafood and international cuisine. Guests enjoy direct beach access and walking along the seaside of the Gulf of Siam.

Reviewed By Doris LLousy hotel! I don’t feel like I am staying in a 4 star hotel in Thailand! Wear & tear seriously! Service poor from Front desk to restaurant (except one choppy lady *excuse me to describe her in this way as the worse one is thin* in Restaurant is good but forgot to check the name though) Definitely not worth to what I paid! As they are close to the pier to Koh Tao and the hotel near the pier is full! Otherwise, don’t book! Definitely it is not Novotel standard! I have never write a review like this but really want to remind those who plan to stay a night in Chumphon before departing to Koh Tao

Lovely little hotel in stunning location.

We didn't stay long enough to fully enjoy the setting but found the room quite adequate with good air conditioning, a comfortable bed and a watchable tv system. The breakfast was also very good with a reasonable selection of local and European fares. Will definitely return.

This place is absolutely perfect for one-night staying before your departure from Lomprayah Pier and after coming back to the pier.

Villa Varich is located at the Tha Ta Pao River, 1 km from bypass to southern and 4 km from downtown. The location in the jungle river surround with palm oil, coconut, banana, and fruit garden. The hotel is peaceful and quiet. Amazing villa in a peaceful location
Reviewed By SavvySubTravelsWe really enjoyed our stay at Villa Varich. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They looked after us really well and accommodated our needs generously. The villa itself was amazing to stay at. The location was quiet and full of nature. There is a common area for dining and coffee. There is also a river behind the villas where you can enjoy kayaking, which is included in the price of the stay. You can borrow bikes to roam through the local areas, which is also included in the price. There are a few complimentary snacks when checking-in and they can be topped up whenever you need. The villa was cleaned by the staff really well on every day that we needed it. Overall this is a lovely getaway in a rural area where you will be alone with nature. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Reviewed By polarity_bearWe stayed here on our way to/from Bangkok to Koh Samui. We booked one of the cabins with a kitchenette overlooking the lotus ponds. The accommodation is simple, but it was clean and comfortable and the location was ideal to break the journey.

Weirdly Unfriendly
Reviewed By donnythecatThe rooms were a bit stale but otherwise basic/fine/average. What was exceptional about this place was the inexplicably hostile customer service. We came during Songkran, so perhaps the receptionist would rather not be stuck at work, and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic certainly heightens tensions. Maybe they were just having a bad day - who knows. Earlier in the evening of our stay, we called and spoke to the receptionist at Palm Sweet to inquire about a taxi, as we were stranded near the pier with no way of getting to the hotel (because despite having an airport/major pier, Chumphon does not yet have Grab/ride apps and taxis services are few and far between - getting around without your own transport is super difficult). The receptionist was completely disinterested in our situation and offered no help or suggestions whatsoever - just awkward silences on the phone. After several hours of calling various defunct taxi companies and then OTHER hotels, the friendly people at the Moonshine Resort were sympathetic to our plight and were able to hire us a driver (even though were were not staying with them). When we eventually arrived at the Palm Sweet, the receptionist refused to greet us or even look us in the face, instead he coldly took our passports and ordered us to fill out some forms. Another woman came in and was just as rude and unpleasant. Overall, we were made to feel extremely unwelcome. When they slid us a key across the counter without a word, we naturally asked where our room was located (as it was dark out and the complex is large and mazy). The woman sighed and muttered under her breath, “อะไร,อยากให้เราอุ้มไปด้วยเหรอ?”, a patronizing remark akin to “what, now you need me to hold your hand and walk you to the door?” Simply shocking behavior from people who work in hospitality and one of the most awkward hotel experiences in my four years in Thailand. Perhaps Thai patrons have had better experiences here, but between the lack of patience and respect towards customers/foreigners?, lack of English language ability, and their generally negative attitude, I highly recommend staying away from the Palm Sweet Resort.

Wonderful place
Reviewed By Thomas TThis is a very charming place to stay if you're around Chumphon. It's less than 10 minutes away from Chumphon town and about 20 minutes from the beach. The people here are very friendly and helpfull, the rooms are clean and cozy and there's very little noise from outside or neighbours. There's a little stream next to the property where you can watch the fireflies at night :)

One of the most unconventional hotels we've ever settled in
Reviewed By ConquerorOfSummitsNo doubt, that unconventional things add more bright colors to our life, the same as visiting of uncommon places. With all that said, I can call De Sea Almond Hotel in Chumphon as one of the most unusual hotels we have ever settled in. It’s not just a hotel with a number of rooms, which, more or less, looks the same, no, each room in this hotel is one-of-a-kind one. We were lucky enough to spend one night in the room number three on the first floor, a two-story fort-like room with a big bathtub and spacious balcony with a sea-view, and it we did really enjoy the opportunity to warm ourselves in a hot bath with bubble bath (kindly provided by the hotel) first, and then cool ourselves with one famous cold drink, sitting on the balcony. Just one little advice: start taking hot water into the bath in advance as the flow of the water was water pressure was quite weak. For example, it took us about one hour to fill the bath. Yes, the hotel isn’t brand-new one, at all, and it definitely needs renovation here and there. However, we would be happy to visit De Sea Almond, once again, mostly, because of the vibe of this place.
