Set on quite a large roundabout, this central landmark boasts cooling fountains and – if you're not too sure of your directions in Alicante - is a great way to remember where you started. Its underground tram station is accessible via escalators (or a lift), and there are numerous shops, cafés and banks nearby. Head south, i.e. downhill, for the El Corte Ingles department store and the city beach.

Set in the midst of Alicante old town ,you will find Calle de Las Setas (street of the mushrooms!) Yes there are lots of mushrooms as well! An amble down this shaded street will bring you across lovely little boutiques and quaint traditional tapas bars. Well worth a walk down.
