When we pick our granddaughter up from nursery school the choice is what do you want to do now? If the weather's nice the answer is always Buckingham!!! Other parents are friendly to g'parents, very safe and well planned for tots to elementary school. It's important that you know that what you bring in you will bring out--no trash barrels.

Waterford Beach Park

My wife and I love going to this beach! There is no traffic and practically unlimited parking. There are only small waves usually so our family comes and brings their kids! It's a great place to go if you want to spend a few hours at the beach and not have it be an all day event between driving and fighting traffic only to get to a place that's overcrowded.

Clark Community Park

I take my dog down here every so often, he likes to swim in the pond. We walk the trails which are extremely peaceful. A variety of critters roam back there, including fishers, beavers, coyotes, bears, and a variety of birds. There are also vernal pools that house a variety of noisy frogs in the springtime. The park does a great job of having maps that show the basic upper and lower trails. However there are other trails that lead into The Preserve and you can end up really out there. I've had some wild adventures exploring the woods. Recently the local high school did a rocking job of replacing the bridge that you need to cross to get to the back of the woods, it looks really sharp. Many people walk the trails with their dogs off leash, so if you have a dog that doesn't do well around other animals I suggest you avoid bringing them back there. Also I have seen coyotes as well and they are not shy.
