A drive on Marine Drive in the evening affords great night vistas of Mumbai's skyline dotted with lights.. the walkway that adjoins the Sea makes for a pleasant walk and faces the Arabian Sea on one end and a line of Art Deco heritage buildings ( some in need of repair) on the opposite side... although a busy road, Marine Drive or the Queens necklace as it is referred to on account of its natural curve and string of pearl overhead lights is an integral icon of Mumbai.

Mysuru Zoo holds an important place in Karnataka. In 1909 the Palace Zoo was named as Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens to commemorate the illustrious founder and since then it bears the nomenclature. Mysuru Zoo has gradually grown into tourist centre, imparting wildlife values. It has got 123 years of history exhibiting wild animals in the near natural enclosures. Despite majority of the zoos have been shifted from the original place to the new places, Mysuru Zoo could modernize the zoo, without shifting the zoo. 1. We visited Mysore Zoo a couple of days back. This zoo is world class. It is neat, clean and the upkeep of the animals & surroundings is extremely good. The animals are well fed and they look healthy. 2. We visited the zoo in the afternoon and most of the animals were outside the cages and visitors could watch the animals. 3. The full circuit within the zoo is ~ 4 Kms. For those who find it difficult to walk, there are electric cars to take them around. The entire trip takes about an hour. 4. You can see all the big cats, elephants, rhinos, hippos, bears, gaur, different types of monkeys, parrots & lots of birds ....... 5. The boards give you valuable information about the anmals. 5. I have visited this zoo after ages with my grandson and it was a pleasure going to the Mysore zoo. 6. Kudos to the zoo staff for their hard work & dedication in maintaining the zoo and taking care of the animals.

It was a great place to visit since my childhood. The most advantage of Nandan kanan over other zoo are it's build and located inside of a forest, so the animals are more or less enjoying forest alike atmosphere . Extremely big with respect to the area . However mismanagement is there every where. Need to be taken care with extremely special care to preserve this gem

Very good and lucky experience of snow fall. Kids really enjoyed it as first time saw live snowfall. You need to take local taxi with permit and best time to come is early November before road is closed or after May when road open.

Very nice place located on the seashore and breathtaking views from the top of hill and the Gopuram. The Gopuram(entrance) is 21 floor and we can go to 18th floor using the lift. There are 3-4 windows for enjoying the view of surrounding places. There is a big Shiva statue also just by the seaside. Beach is very close to this temple and have water sports available. The road is very good and is around 2 kms from Highway.

Reached from Mumbai to Kudal by train and connecting bus to Malvan which is about 30 km away. Another bus for Devbag which is about 10 km away.The name Tarkarli is derived from the river Karli which flows in the area. Tar means the river side. Every house here is involved directly or indirectly with tourism industry. Most families have built few rooms for the tourists to occupy- home stay. They prepare home food and serve to the tourists. Beach cottages plentiful. Here people are very good and helpful. Beach is neat and clean with sea water transparent. Hotels here want the customers to book food in advance and then they prepare for the order, there by serving you fresh food. Choice of food is generally limited. Few hotels like Coastal Galaxy has good food choices. One can enjoy water sports at Tsunami island which is reachable by ferries which charge about Rs 500 for the cruise. They take you around for half an hour's journey showing you the Dev sangam the mingling of sea and the river. Here on Tsunami island one can take various rides like Water skiing, banana ride, sofa ride etc for Rs 200 each or package of Rs 500 for three rides. There is also provision for para sailing and scuba diving for which charges are about Rs 800 and Rs 1000 respectively. Walk on the Devbaug beach is very pleasant. One can safely go in the water and enjoy neat and clean water. It's so transparent that you can see the sand below. Sunset scene here is magnificent. One can enjoy the sunrise scene at Tarkarli beach which is about 3 km from Devbaug. Here various camel and horse rides are available. Coconut trees are plentiful. Coconut water here is much sweeter than what one gets in Mumbai. Sindhudurg fort can be reached from Malvan. For reaching it, one has to take a small boat ride which charges Rs 90 per head. Rock garden at Malvan is nicely managed. It's worth a visit. Good time to visit is December January. At Malvan one can enjoy the local delicacy Malvan Khaja. It is vary tasty and has mild sweetness and ginger. Malvan fish dishes are great. Doelkars spices shop is popular and one can take home malvani spices and other delicacies.
