St Andrews Links

Recognised the world over as the Home of Golf, St Andrews Links has borne witness to over 600 years of golfing history. That the game evolved and developed into its final form here has never been in question. Golf has been played on the famous Links since as early as the 1400s, and it was here in 1764, when the 22 hole Old Course was reduced, that today's 18-hole round was established, becoming the standard for golf courses the world over. One golf course has now become seven, and many of golf's most dramatic moments have occurred here. The Links has played host to the game's greats as well as those enthusiastic amateurs for whom the chance to play St Andrews' hallowed turf is a dream come true. As well as seven courses, the Links also manages four shops, three clubhouses and a Golf Academy - all open for the public to enjoy.

If your into golf this was a trip of a life time. Ive had the opportunity to play at great courses around the country. I play Torrey Pines in San Diego on a regular basis. St.Andrews by far has been the best golf and overall trip I've ever done. Play all the courses at St.Andrews, the staff the restraints the accommodations where all top notch and very reasonable. plan a year in advance and you will not be disappointed.

Kingsbarns Golf Links

A traditional Scottish links golf course with sea views over 1.5 miles of coastline ranked in the top 60 courses worldwide and top 20 in Europe.

Playing our 5th and 6th rounds at Kingsbairns the vistas, the wide array of links like and parkland holes is as good as ever. It’s pricey and while still wonderful Crail, Castle, Torrance offer similar vistas and challenge at a fraction of the price. Our conclusion (our group has played over a 100 rounds in Kingdom of Fife over seven years) is that it’s a wonderful course that’s very playable but the price affects the appreciation over time. Our reluctant conclusion is that we’ve had our last rounds there.

I took my kids (12 & 13 Boy & Girl) for a few experience days with the Blown away team, They had a couple of surf lessons and a Land Yachting session, we all thoroughly enjoyed both experiences and it was clear from the offset how good the day was going to be run given not only the professionalism of all the staff but the warm friendly welcome we received, my son really didn't want to surf but within the first 5 minutes he had changed his mind and now all I hear is "when can we go back....." Amazing experience from the guys and could thank you enough.

When you think of the requirements for a good seaside resort, Elie and Earlsferry is pretty much as good as it gets. The village is quaint and charming, the beach is fantastic, the harbour area lovely, the coastal walks stimulating, etc etc etc. Add the delightful Ship Inn and several other delightful cafes and shops and you really have it all. We always pop in here when we are in Fife and have never been disappointed.

Crail Golfing Society - Balcomie and Craighead Courses

Hugely enjoyable golf, splendid clubhouse and warm welcome await at Crail Golfing Society. Founded in 1786 and the seventh oldest golf club in the world, it celebrated its 225th anniversary in 2011. The club has two courses: Balcomie Links, a unique, traditional links laid out by Old Tom Morris, and Craighead Links, a challenging links experience designed by 2009 Golf Course Architect of the Year Gil Hanse.

Having played both course for over 15 years on and off, I have been so impressed with Crail Golf Society that I am now a full member, even slough I stay almost 2 Hours from the course, it is the complete package, from a great welcome in the pro-shop, to a friendly welcome in the clubhouse and then you have 2 great courses to play, both courses have their own uneque challenges,Balcome the older course with its fantastic layout , can be very challenging from the tees, with some decisions having to be made were to place the ball or go for the big shoot, Craighead has its own challenges off the tees as well, but the main challenge here is picking the right part of the green to be putting from, both course are a credit to the greenstaff, play both course on the same day and you will have a enjoyable experience, great layout and fantastic greens, on top of this you also have great views all round the course. Book now and enjoy your day, once you have played Crail Golf Society you will want to come back

The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews

The ruling authority of the game of golf that decides rules of the game, organizes tournaments and serves as a private members club.

A bucket item ticked off here and was not disappointed. Was surprised that you could walk the course freely as long as it didn't interfere with the golf then all was good. Has the obliquetry photo taken on the bridge. It was a calm day the day we were there and it just seemed so serene. A trip to the gift shop for a few souvenirs also a requirement.
