It is the longest hike and wonderful journey for me by walk. I went with few frinds via Ohiya Hortain plains entrance and Udaweriya estate. It's not a rainy day and mountain view is suprb . The highest waterfall of Sri Lanka is Bambarakanda fall and we climb down from top to bottom of fall through forest. And we saw upper fall and lower fall on the way.

A pond that is more than three times longer (159 m), more than twice broader (52.7 m) and almost 5 times deeper (9.5 m) and holding 30 times more volume of water than an Olympic swimming pool (75000 Cubic meters) created during 2 century B.C to 1 century A.D period and still has a functioning underground water supply system connected to a tank in the neighbourhood, is very much difficult to apprehend unless one see it! “Eth pokuna” had a fair volume of water during my visit and it was a lovely sight.

I did a dive yesterday (11/11/19) with Shanaka. He's very professional & enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We went to Bar Reef, about 30 minutes out. Visibility was not great (~5-10m). We went to about 14m deep and saw some amazing fish (1 large ray of about 1.2 m). I felt very comfortable with Shanaka as diving buddy. Unfortunately I couldn't go for the 2nd dive as I lost my mask when climbing aboard after the 1st dive ...???? I would recommend Shanaka any time! Bert

This place is built beside diyawanna oya, comprises of a walking path and a local market place.one can spend a few hours here relaxing. You can buy different varieties of food at restaurants and handlooms, flower pots, ornamental fish ,etc at the market place. You can sit and enjoy any food you bring from outside too.The water fountain is a beautiful scenery at night and try to checkout if possible. Overall a beautiful place in the city to get away from the hassle.
