Really great fun, walking through waterfalls, jumping into pools and generally having a really good time! This was a great family activity for us and our teenage daughter, we would definitely recommend this for anyone with a sense of adventure and love for being outdoors. Our guide Paddy was really great, ensuring we had lots of fun but also stayed safe. It was an amazing way to see the gorge in all of its glory.

HCE Adventure

We arranged for 22 of us to stay in Red Oak Lodge for a stag do. Facilities are perfect with plenty of space for any activities. Nick and Angie were very easy to deal with and gave us lots of local advice. We also did the clay pigeon shooting and it was good value. In Saturday we hired a bus to take us into Cardiff for the rugby as it is not that far from central Cardiff. Excellent weekend

Encounter Adventure

What a fantastic fun thing to do ! Gethin and team were outstanding! There were 4 in our group 2 novices in our 50 ‘s and 2 experienced paddle boarders in their 30’s on a Sunday morning on a canal ! After an excellent safety talk and equipment fitting we were off and although nervous to start we were off ! The best hour spent on a Sunday for years ! The paddle boarding is easy once you have 5 minutes under your belt , I attempted standing up went in the canal but it’s easy to get back on and second time managed to stand . Give it a go the scenery is spectacular and as reward at the end go and have a wonderful coffee and THE best lemon drizzle cake you will ever taste ! Highly recommended ❤️????❤️????

The Knap

Reviewed By Joanne220279

The Knap is one of my favourite places to visit, I absolutely love the lake which is teeming with ducks and swans. The gardens are immaculate with plenty of benches to enjoy a sandwich. As well as the beautiful gardens and a lake, there is also a pebble beach which is always clean. This is a great location to enjoy a peaceful walk and parking is free. There are lots of places to visit near the Knap including: * Barry Island which has great attractions including a beautiful sandy beach, arcades, mini golf, fairground rides and lots of beach shops, cafes and fish shops along the promenade. * Barry Town Centre which has a mixture of independent and high street stores such as Pep & Co, The Card Factory, B & M and so on * Jackson Bay which is a small secluded bay * Friars point which has amazing views over the Bristol Channel Further afield there is also Llantwit Major, Cardiff, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Ogmore by Sea, Southerndown, Cowbridge and the Rhondda Valleys. All of which are great places to visit.

Ynysangharad Park

Reviewed By lenvalentine - Pontypridd, United Kingdom

This park is one of the jewels of Pontypridd, a large green area accompanied by sunken gardens, well-maintained flower beds, and a little uns’ play area. Lido Ponty is at the centre of the park - book your space quickly once it reopens as it’s constantly busy! Some history in the park with the monument for Evan James and James James (who were responsible for creating the national anthem of Wales) and the war memorial. All around well-maintained green space and a nice place to sit by the River Taff. It's a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.
