Top 10 Nature & Parks in Marmaris, Turkish Aegean Coast

September 14, 2021 Claudia Navarrete

A gorgeous backdrop of pine-clad mountains looms behind the seaside resort of Marmaris in southwest Turkey. Popular as a cruise ship and yacht port and with the British budget holiday crowd, Marmaris offers an abundance of fast food restaurants, the restored castle of Suleyman the Magnificent and an appealing cobblestoned old quarter. Outside the busy town, coves and bays of the Datça Peninsula make lovely daytrip destinations for those traveling by boat.

MartI Marina & Yacht Club

We have a small trawler which we decided to anchor in Marti Marina for about 4 months during the summer of 2020. Our experience has been absolutely spectacular! Not only the location is pristine and as pretty as picturesque, but also the service you get from the staff in the marina and from the establishment around the marina (the hotel in the marina is exceptional and very luxurious) deserve a solid praise! They are incredibly friendly, resourceful and accommodating. To further elaborate, I work in a big tech company and was in need for an office space to work from for a couple days and they even provided that for me. Orhaniye is a special place and as someone who grew up in Turkey and lives in the States (but still travel often to Europe) I will attest to the fact that you will find no other place like this. It is pure heaven.

interesting island with lots of historical attractions Cleopatra beach : Outstanding beach and According to the legend, Cleopatra and Antonius used to swim here and the sands have been brought by the ships from North Africa. It’s been said that this type of the sand can only be seen in Egypt. For that reason it is forbidden to get and carry sand from the beach . Appollon Kutsal Alani A historical place , interesting and worth a visit .Place is full of ancient stones , columns and much more .The view from top overlooking the beach is breathtaking Tiyatro agora : Absolutely amazing, a ancient theater with huge capacity , interesting the way how is built.
