The preservation of the traditional filigree technique and jewellery which are part of the Macedonian Cultural Heritage is the main aspect of the Atelier. The other one is renewing and innovation in the contemporary development of the filigree jewellery. What you can see when you visit the Gallery is the traditional filigree jewellery exhibited together with the contemporary jewellery pieces which emerged from the centuries old traditional filigree design and craft.

I loved this because I've never been to a paper museum. I found the tour to be very brief, but I walked out with a perfect understanding of medieval paper making and printing processes. I liked that because there was no entry fee, I could instead spend my money buying an original handmade paper print. Because this is so quick an also free, I think it definitely warrants a stop on your Ohrid tour!

During our incredible boat cruise with B & F Cruise - Ohrid Lake Boat Tours along the picturesque coast on Lake Ohrid, we visited the bay of bones museum. At first we thought this will be interesting, a museum full of bones... Yes, there was bones on display at this reconstructed village of stilt houses displaying Bronze & Iron Age items recovered from Lake Ohrid. The story goes they used bones from animal remains for tools during this time, and on display in the houses were these artefacts. There was a small entry fee of €1 and for divers it's actually possible to visit the underwater excavations in the flesh with Diving Center Amfora. The museum is situated on the coast, and to arrive by boat was quite special. We jumped off and visited the museum, but also took in the most magical views and impressed again by the waters and breathtaking views surrounding the museum.
