This is a good place for a tuscan lunch for a good price on the lovely terasse oposite of the road. The staff is very helpfull and even speaks a word of English The suggestions they made were perfect. We had the local starter for two and the special desert (including local sweet liquor). Simply delicious. Including water and wine, total EU33,=.

Decisamente da provare, il locale si trova in un antico palazzo, l'arredamento e stato curato nei dettagli, il cibo è casalingo e fatto all'istante. La cucina domina la sala e quindi è completamente visibile. Atmosfera conviviale e rilassante nonchè divertente.Parcheggi disponibili. Ottimo per una gita di fine estate

We had dinner recently for the first time in this restaurant. We were a group of friends and we ordered a lot of different dishes to share. Affettati, tagliere di formaggi, tortino di carciofi ... as starter and than the classic tortelli di patate con prugnoli, tortelloni con ragù di carne, tagliatelle verdi.... everything absolutely delicious. We had than some meat: piccioni, tagliata, fiorentina... it was even better. The desserts are also home made and delicious. This place deserve and pay you back the drive you probably need to get there. If you can, go with time to spend in the surrounding, which is also beautiful. Price absolutely fair with an incredible price - quality ratio.

Domenica a pranzo tra famiglie.Il Locale è accogliente così come la gestione che riesce a farti a sentire come a casa.Gli spazi sono ampi adatti anche a comitive.Il nostro menù prevedeva un assaggio delle loro proposte (assaggio si fa per dire visto che al dolce stavo per esplodere!). Siamo partiti con battilarde di affettati ottima salvia fritta accompagnati da bocconcini di pizza fritta, a seguire i crostini con un ottimo pane (quello ai fegatini non basta mai troppo buono).Per i bimbi si va su tortelli al ragù e burro e salvia che hanno molto apprezzato visti i piatti puliti. Noi grandi si va su vari assaggi dal tortello mugellano a quello al lampredotto particolare ma da provare.Passiamo alla tagliata che ci viene servita scondita con vari tipi di olio e sali per condirla a piacimento. Personalmente non l'ho condita perché quando la carne è buona non ritengo vada coperta con altri sapori. Ci viene servito anche il Peposo che mi ha rapito, un sapore forte, deciso e coinvolgente. Il tutto accompagnato da patate e verdure.Buoni i dolci eccezionale il tiramisù!Il vino della casa è un buon compromesso di qualità prezzo ma non mancano etichette più "importanti"!Il prezzo è stato adeguato alla qualità ed alla quantità di ciò che ci è stato servito.Non avendo pernottato ci è stata data occasione di vedere qualche camera non occupata ed ho avuto la sensazione di camere arredate in maniera semplice ed essenziali che trasmettono senso di pulito e pace i bagni anche se piccoli sfruttano al meglio gli spazi di cui dispongono.Sicuramente si tornerà magari anche per un fine settimana!

Thanks to Trip Advisor, we searched nearby restaurants and found this one rated Number One in the area. We had spent the day touring Florence before returning to our hotel in San Piero a Sierve. Though we did have a car and a GPS, had no idea it would be so far out of the way and a 30 minute travel, 8.3 miles along narrow and twisting country roads in the dark. Upon arrival there were only four other tables occupied and wondered whether we should have stayed closer to town?Along with a very good bottle of Tuscan chianti, we had freshly made bread and an antipasti of cheeses, prosciutto, salame, finocchiana to begin our meal.After this, our waiter brought us three more house specialty appetizers consisting of tomatoes, polenta, and seasonal mushrooms.Our main dish for three was the Tuscan specialty of Bistecca Fiorentina which was huge, weighing in at a it tad more than 2 kilos. Grilled to medium rare, the steak was served with fresh roasted potatoes. Before leaving, I had the opportunity to meet and compliment the manager and cook for such a special and sumptuous meal. I cannot say enough about our waiter who did well to suggest most of our dishes and pace them in a timely manner.We hope to return in the future and perhaps come in daylight when the drive won't be so stressful.Locanda delle Isole deserves its number one rating!May 2, 2015

Era un pranzo di cresima. Il tempo non era propizio e non abbiamo potuto godere della bellezza del luogo per cui mi riprometto di tornare. Anche perché la cucina era manifestamente genuina perché a km. 0,001: era per lo più frutto del pollaio e dell'orto di casa. Ci hanno servito persone che potevano essere una zia, un cugino o comunque persone della nostra famiglia di un tempo passato: un tuffo nelle atmosfere che non esistono più

The restaurant was fully booked, mainly tourists. But that did not spoil the cosy atmosphere. The menu was wonderful. It is rather a trip reaching the restaurant, but worth the trip. We stayed for the night in Gli Orzali; check out our review as well.
