I think this is the best beach on the island. It's one of the few with soft sand going out into the water instead of rocks underfoot. It's got a fabulous view, and there is a great hike of a couple of km to the top of the neighboring hill and down the other side to another beach. There's even a bus stop there (labeled the "southernmost bus stop in Tokyo", since Chichijima is technically part of Tokyo), so access is easy. I never saw more than 2 people on the beach, but I was there in a sort of low season.

This was a fun little outdoor fish market with some raw seafood and some cooked ready to eat. We stuck with the ready to eat option. Super yummy. It's dog friendly. Was a lovely stop before leaving Isumi after a little weekend trip from Tokyo. We went on a Sunday morning, which is when one of the Japanese reviews said it was open.
