Reviewed By olayazzzThe hotel now is managed by a new owners and they are simply amazing. They make you feel at home at any time. Breakfast included and delicious (home made facturas and omelette) The location is perfect really close to the main street. Excellent!

Amazing stay in el chalten
Reviewed By WayneB1990Excellent little hotel in El Chalten. Location is perfect, set back from the main street but only a few minutes walk to all the restaurants and 5-10 mins walk to the start of all the main hikes in the area. Lovely clean rooms with a huge comfy bed! The cafe is also excellent with very good breakfast and lunch. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Wifi not very good in the rooms but works well in the cafe area, but the WiFi is very hit and miss in all of el chalten so this doesn't really matter. Take cash USD for best prices!

Reviewed By 180vl180Very lovely place with great hosts. The rooms are very clean and comfy and the view over the city was amazing. They can offer you a lunchbox for day trips. Free parking. Short walk (over some stairs) directly down to the city center. Would stay there again!

Family adventure
Reviewed By N3145IGvirginiabWe had an incredible time at Estancia La Estela. We are a family of four - two adults and two boys under 10 and were there for two nights and two days. The location is beautiful and the food spectacular. We took part in the half-day horse-back riding experience and got to explore amazing views along the lake and then enjoy a magnificent traditional lunch. I would recommend this estancia to anyone and will try to go there again. The host, Laura, was extremely responsive and helpful, helping us to find a driver and being incredibly flexible to allow for certain logistical challenges we had.

Cabins in the wilderness
Reviewed By MrsdbyrneOur two storey cabin at Cabanas Austral was a great base for our stay in El Chalten. True, at times it felt like the roof was going to fly off with the gale force winds at night, but it never did and inside it was cosy and comfortable. A new TV was installed on our second day which was appreciated as the wifi is terribly slow at best - a problem that seems to affect the whole town. There is a little kitchen which is great for eating in when you don't want to venture out in the cold. The Cabanas are on the main road and are about a 5-10 minute walk into the "centre" of town. Beware that nowhere here really takes cards, other than the supermarket. Our UK card was blocked when we tried to withdraw money the second time from the only ATM in town (by the bus station) and as there is no phone signal in the town we were a bit stuck without cash until we left. The ATM only lets you withdraw about AEP 1,000 per transaction so arrive stocked up with cash. 4 days in El Chalten was probably a bit much for us, but Cabanas Austral was a great place to stay.

Reviewed By TrophyCollectorLocated next to the only petrol station in a 100km diameter and opposite the Coyote Bar, this Motel is convenient for overlanders who can't make it north to Bariloche or south to Calafate. Rooms are quite large, new, modern and clean.

Reviewed By jurgirThe rooms are nice and warm (the nights get quite cold in El Chalten), the beds comfortable, the shower has plenty of hot water. What else do you need after a whole day of hiking? There is also some coffee and tea on the table outside the room. The host is very friendly and provides a lot of useful information and recommendations.

Excellent Apartment Option in El Chalten
Reviewed By Seth WGreat location in El Chalten, with close proximity to restaurants, grocery stores, and trail heads. There is a small store right next to the apartments that is convenient for basic goods. Our apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable with a separate bedroom and living room. It also had nice views and good natural light. The kitchen was useful to have. We were greeted warmly and Simon provided us with great recommendations for food as well as for what hike to do. He was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They have continued to develop this relatively new property, and are currently working on final stages.We would stay here again.

We are a small lodgement with 8 rooms that has been operating for more than 15 years. We offer comfortable accommodation, well-heated rooms and a quiet environment to recover energy after a day in the mountains. All rooms and common areas have Wi-Fi access and have a kitchen equipped to use it every day. We also provide information about trails and their status, weather forecast, transfer and all the activities that can be done in the area.

Reviewed By SouthmansionThis is a great spot for your time in El Chalten! The staff is phenomenal! Great personalities and incredibly helpful! The accommodations here are pretty basic, but that should be obvious given the low price. Our stay was quite comfortable and I really enjoyed the breakfasts. They provide fresh pastries each morning from a local bakery that were to die for! They also have hiking polls you can borrow and plenty of trail advice if you need it. They even offered to let us come back and use the common showers after our hike the 2nd day since we had already checked out that morning. Great location...great vibes! Just love El Chalten in general. It's all about hiking and happy hour...what's better than that?? :)
