Top 10 Lodges in Bucharest, Romania

May 5, 2023 Vivienne Hutton

Vlad the Impaler stated his claim to Bucharest in 1459. His citadel on the Dambovita was the first of flotillas of palaces, many of which still stand. Four subway lines and a modern bus network transport visitors and commuters. Nicknamed "Little Paris", Bucharest's elegant early 20th-century architecture shows French influences. Don't miss the Village Museum, Romanian Athenaeum and the Peasant Museum. You can't miss the Palace of Parliament, the second-largest building in the world (after the Pentagon).

Bread and Breakfast

The hostel's decor is modern and minimalist, but also warm due to the the wooden beams reminiscent of the old building's architecture. The place has been reconditioned very recently (this year, 2018) and offers everything an eager traveler might need for a most pleasant stay in Bucharest. We offer 24/7 reception services.

Goldilocks' nightmare - someone sleeping on top of my bed

Reviewed By 792elyseb

I was in communications with Bread & Breakfast numerous times to alert them of my past 0300 arrival into Bucharest. They provided me the key codes to enter their hostel after hours. The problem was when I went to my assigned room, the room was unlocked and someone was sleeping on top of my bed! It's past 0530, I'm in the dining room, since I don't have a room/bed, waiting for the employees to arrive as check out starts at 0730. Not a great way to start my holiday in Bucharest. I don't feel safe sleeping in the assigned room - they have key codes to get inside building AND into the bedroom.

Villa Zorba

“Never put off until tomorrow what you can enjoy today!” Inspired by the film “Zorba the Greek” we embrace this beautiful philosophy on life.Villa Zorba is a very nice place, located in the central area of Bucharest, at just 15 minutes of walk from “Romana Square” and further to the downtown & so called “old-center”.It is provided with good access – less than 100 meters from local public transport stations and a distance of only three stations from the closest underground train “Bucur Obor”. However, most of tourists prefer TAXI service which costs around 0.33Euro/km, e.g. 2 Euro up to the “old center” of Bucharest. Villa Zorba consists in a pretty large, clean, green courtyard of around 100sqm where located two new built villas of three floors are as well as the private parking. They have eleven twin apartments & rooms, provided with newest furniture, TV, WFI internet access as well as a kitchen available for the tourists need.Additionally, a swimming pool and a terrace make the atmosphere very nice and comfortable. The location is very peaceful, being placed of around 30m from the main public street, the access made though a private road.

Most hospitable owner I've met!

A wonderful villa and amazing family that were the most hospitable to us for an evening. They could accommodate our whole convoy! It's a beautiful property a short drive from the city centre. We felt so welcomed and were so pleased to so stay. I only wish we had stayed longer!

Never again

Reviewed By Catslover77

I've stayed here with a friend of mine and we booked this hotel because it is close to a school where we needed to go to make an exam. It's very far from the city center, we knew that, but is very very noisy. The front desk doesn't know what customer service mean at all, they were not polite and helpful, except for booking for us taxis. The temperature in the room was too warm and the smell they sprayed in the air was too strong, so we had to open the window and was impossible to sleep because our room faced the street, that was noisy all day long. The mattress was uncomfortable because too soft. The bar that was supposed to hold the shower head was broken and could barely support it. Bad experience. Terrible customer service.

Nice place, good location

Reviewed By Freyja89

The location was great, very close to the Old Town and the main points of interest for a tourist. We were in town for a concert, and it was also very close to National Arena. The room had AC, which was great as the weather was very hot. The place was cozy and overall a good place to stay in if you're in town for a couple of days.

Insomma

Reviewed By Miranda16v

nice room

Reviewed By Aleksandra P

A nice, clean room, a comfortable bed, white towels. The bathroom is ok but very small. The staff speaks no English. It's hard to park your car as there is no parking so you have to leave your car in a very busy street, if you're lucky to find a place.

Not even close to a decent hotel

Reviewed By Adrian B

I was staying at this hotel between 17 and 27 February 2020 ina business trip. I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. The restaurant does not work, I was offered a so-called breakfast, but only at 9.00, in the room I had no fridge or minibar, I had not even a closet in the room, not even a table to eat or work. In addition, in the hallway there was a pink-purple light atmosphere and at the reception was a large poster that said: "Transfer fee 3 hours - 30 lei". Well, what are you thinking of? Not to mention that one night when we came all the colleagues from work we were wished "success" when we enter the establishment... In the very hot room (25 degrees), there is no possibility to adjust the temperature, just opening the window help a little bit. In a word, something other than a hotel
