Top 10 Lessons & Workshops in Lake District, England

October 27, 2021 Augustus Redeker

Cumbria's valleys and fells (as the low mountains are known) are home to idyllic villages, high moorlands and picturesque lakes. Literary buffs will enjoy Wordsworth's Dove Cottage (go in March to see daffodils), and if you've got kids in tow, visit The World of Beatrix Potter. Or just enjoy a leisurely drive through beautiful scenery.

Woodmatters Bush Craft and Wood Courses

My wife and I had a fascinating and satisfying day crafting benches with Woodmatters. Gareth is a very clear and patient teacher guiding everyone through the process so that we all ended up with a bench at the end of the day. With a group of 6 there was plenty of space at Footprint for everyone to feel comfortable and plenty of high quality, well maintained tools so that you could work safely. It’s a very full and busy day that was fun and excellent value.

Just back from a fantastic trip to the beautiful Islands of Lofoten with memory cards full of great images and lots of great memories! Melvin met us all at the airport and drove us back to our base for the week - a large 7 bed house in Ramberg - really central to all the key photographic locations. Each day was packed with plenty of opportunities - with Melvin's excellent local knowledge ensuring we were at the right locations at the right times for sunrise, sunset and the right tides. We were lucky with a fantastic show of the Northern Lights, and had a fresh dump of snow the next morning to enhance the pictures further still. This is the second workshop I have done with Melvin - and I cannot recommend him enough. He gives you all the support you need, allowing you to find your own compositions, and then giving constructive advice on how to improve and ge the most out each location ands your camera ????????

Traction Engine Driving Experience

Reviewed By buddy043 - Norwich, United Kingdom

Bought this for my husbands 50th birthday, always loved traction engines & from start to finish it was a great day, Chris started the day with getting my husband to prepare the engine, learning a few manoeuvres & talking him through everything & answering any questions, had the most amazing shortbread made by his wife with a cuppa & lunch cooked on the shovel. After lunch my husband went out for a drive on the engine & couldn’t have asked for more, Chris is a lovely man with a wealth of knowledge & has a love for what he does, nothing was too much trouble & both my husband & myself thoroughly enjoyed the day, was well worth every penny, if you’re looking for a special day this is it & in the most beautiful setting with amazing views.

We were lucky enough to have a bauble blowing experience given to us as a wedding present. Claire guided us both through the whole experience with patience and care and explained the whole process reassuring us with her expertise. We picked the baubles up a few days after and are thrilled with them. A lovely momento of a brilliant experience combined with a wedding present. A visit to the shop is also highly recommended, a beautiful selection of crystal.
