Not far from the many tourist traps in Riva del garda. Simple good Trentinian food and open white wine at affordable prices; professional fast service. When we were there, frequented by an Italian speaking clientele.

The drive from Riva Del Garda up through the hills to Tenno was soectacular, lots of hairpin turns as the road meanders up the hills, and lovely views along the way. We ended our exploration with a fine lunch here. Enjoyed the outdoor tables (with roof) looking down into the valley. The service was friendly, and the food for all our party of eight was very good. A great destination.

We came here with a group of friends. The AMBIENCE and decor of the establishment is totally traditional and "local ye olde worlde"--in a word, traditional to the area, scenic, cosy and timeless. SERVICE was friendly and fantastic! (They "couldn't do enough for us"!)FOOD: Incredible! There was so much--everything was delicious!-- that it's difficult to remember it all! Courses just kept on coming! For me, the highlight was a "starter" round of two kinds of THE most delicious home-made bresaola--the traditional air-dried type and a sort of marinated, pressed "tartare" version which was unimaginably good! The style of the food in general was "Northern Italian-meets-Swiss/Southern Austrian" as you would expect from up in the hills north of Lake Garda. Courses of this deliciousness just kept on arriving! They make their own wine (carrafes of red, rose and white just kept on coming to the table...) This was, literally, ten meals rolled into one! And the cost (including tip)????? Only 29 euros per head!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!

We have visited "Frizzi" many times ..it is a family run restaurant and bar in a really lovely location high above the lake of Garda. looking forward to our next meal there soon! don't expect a menu.. and arrive hungry. The meal starts with platters of carne salada (Trentino special cured meat) a special bean dish, baskets of bread and salami's, pickled vege's etc.. then on to course after course.. depending on the size of your group it can include pasta's, fried potatoes, sauteed beef, vegetables.. food just keeps coming as long as people are hungry. The delicious local wine is served in ceramic jugs.. they set a price per person for groups that reserve in advance.. last year think it was 22 euro's..and have a large room available for groups.. we celebrated our grandsons birthday there last year with a group of 20. it is a favorite place for locals, and prices in their dining room and bar are reasonable.

We went there for lunch yesterday with our good friend, Father Romano. The service was the right speed as we caught up on life. Lunch was comfortable three hours. The carne salata was awesome. The creme brule was huge and had a nice orange taste. They are smart in offering their high end balsamic at the table. My wife bought two bottles.

We have dropped in for the second time - last year and now (June 2017) again. Important things first: the good quality of food and the very friendly service remained unchanged. They are really warmly welcome you - better book a table - and have a nice terrace and a beautiful inside. If you like you can order a menu which takes you through all the typical dishes: rabbit, deer, sausage, pork rib, polenta and krauti. But you should feel quite hungry if you are willing to finish all that. If not you can sure select each dish by itself. If you are going for the menu even wine, water, dessert, coffee and liquor are included. So it is quite a kind of interesting deal. Come in and find out yourself. I can highly recommend a visit. Do not miss this agrirestaurant. It is a little difficult do find - it is not exactly on Via Marone but take a little street from roundabout close to via marone and go a little bit up the hill. You will find friendly family running beautiful restaurant with small pension house. There are a few meals on the list but do not hesitate - everything is homemade, top quality. Especially the antipasti mixed meat of the house was remarkable. Prices also very very reasonable (minus 2-4 euro compared to city center).
