We just stopped over for lunch on our way to Pizzo. Since years for summer vacation in Italy we decided first time to spend two weeks in Kalabria. Amazed by the sea, never saw such a turquoise water in Meditteranean Sea! Lido Azurro is worth even a detour. Such a friendly patron, Alessandro made our start of Kalabria vacation so wonderful! Great food and a true South-Italian hospitality.

We were exploring the beach in Cirella while staying in Diamante. Had lunch at this restaurant on the beach. It was pre-season, so the place was empty. Friendly staff, started fresh with delicious complimentray hors doeuvre of fried zucchini flowers; gambeiri and mixed seafood followed and were both excellent.

Splendida location che da una collina digrada su una caletta.Molto scenografico.Cena di matrimonio di ottimo livello, con il risotto di zucca e gamberetti come miglior piatto della serata.Unica pecca: caldissimo!

We have known Lucio and his sister Antonella for some thirteen years and in this time they have gone from a simple wooden shed to what is now a prime restaurant with great food and fabulous views.They deserve every accolade they have gained, and when you, whilst sitting in beach-wear are joined by a group of Deputies from Rome for lunch, you know this place has to be pretty special

We visited a few nights ago and were very impressed with the professional service delivered by the owners Mariana and Fabrizio. They made us feel very welcome. We stopped for an aperitif and were surprised by the quality of the snacks. Very reasonably priced. We will be back soon . Grazie

My husband and I ate here in June 2017. The owner chef Emilio takes utmost pride in his preparations and presentation. The seafood was exceptionally fresh and meticulously prepared. Every course was delicious down to and including the dessert. Wine was lovely and his homemade cedro liquor was marvelous. I wanted to bring some to my cousin in Cosenza so I asked whether I could purchase some. He said he didn't sell it but he came out with a lovely bottle that he gave me for her as a gift. We enjoyed the meal so much we came back the next day. This restaurant and the owner is the best Calabria offers.

We are regular visitors to Scalea and this bar is our go-to for breakfast, dinner and drinks. Run by Luca and his charming wife Rossana the bar offers a delicious American breakfast to set you up for a day on the beach and then you can return for aperitivo, dinner and late evening drinks. Luca is a big music fan so the recorded sounds on offer are always the very latest from his extensive playlist and once a week during the season a live band plays on the open air terrace. The drinks menu is extensive with every conceivable cocktail to interest you and 'specials' made to order if you're a connoisseur. For eats, there's a wide choice from authentic burgers (available at both lunch and dinner time), salads, pancakes and sandwiches so you won't leave unsatisfied. With its central location Bar Genova is in pole position amongst the other bars and eateries in town to satisfy your every need at any time of the day. Scalea just wouldn't be Scalea for us without Bar Genova.
