We went on Friday evening and there were a few people in even at 6.30. Also takeaways were going out reasonably frequently, both of which is usually a good sign. Staff were very friendly and service was in a reasonable time. My Sheek Kebab was tasty but for me it could have had a little more heat and spice. My wife had crab cakes which she said were ok but would struggle to say they were crab if she didn’t know. I asked for something nice and hot for main and took the chaps recommendation. When it came it wasn’t that hot but it was sweet. When he asked how it was he said he would change it. He did say that what I chose as an alternative would also be sweet!! I asked for anything that wasn’t sweet but hot. Within less than a minute he returned with a meal!? It wasn’t sweet but did taste of vinegar. (And looked similar to what just went back). I can only assume it wasn’t a new dish but my previous one with added vinegar to take away the sweetness. The Sag was delicious. Would I go again? Probably, just to see if it was any better for me. As I said, others seemed to be enjoying the food.

Just had a takeaway from Shere Khan Express, looking at all the other reviews we must have had an off night. The poppadums tasted stale definitely not fresh, then we were treated to four onion bhaji yes they were free but just about warm. And finally our main meal ,King prawn Passanda ok but only just ok. I have a takeaway from here a few times and in the past it was good , this time most of it was thrown in the bin.Would I go again ??? Possibly but not for awhile,

Recently visited the Cottage Tandoori in Rainford on the outskirts of St Helens. We had an assortment of dishes which were all excellent and the drinks were reasonably priced and the service was great too. So much so we were staying in the area for a couple of weeks and managed to get three visits in as we found it that good even taking some friends along on one of those visits. Brilliant food, service and reasonably priced experience well worth a visit.Quint and Julie - Cornish Pixies.

Come here quite regularly and always impressed. Staff are so lovely & always very helpful- if you have a specific request they will always ensure it’s done. The food is fantastic- always cooked to perfection and so tasty. Would definitely recommend the Varma and chilli garlic- both in the hot section...they won’t disappoint! Will be back soon!

Visited late on a Saturday; we hadn't booked but were seated immediately. As it was late, it was almost empty but there was evidence that it had been busier earlier... lots of squashed poppadoms in the carpet which hadn't been cleared away.We ordered our starters; my husband had shami kebab which he said were amongst the best he'd ever had. I had chicken chat. The puri was lovely and light however the chat was a bit sweet for me. It was more like a korma. However, that is individual taste. It was hot and plentiful. Our mains arrived quickly; I had chicken rezala which was very tasty. Not too hot and had an almost smoky flavour. My husband had Sylethi (sorry for awful spelling!) which he really enjoyed, though he spent a few minutes picking out the chillies as there was a lot of them!We ordered keema pilau and vegetable bhaji to accompany the main, both were very good.Half way through, we admitted defeat as the portions were a good size. The very polite waiter bagged it up for us to take home rather than waste it. Snd my son thoroughly enjoyed it when we took it home!It was our first visit here but we will definitely return.
