Nice hotel for westerner
Reviewed By mustang225I stayed here 1 night in jan- 2013 for business. I would recommend. great bed to sleep in and great pillows. shower and bathroom also great. ( shower is a door not a curtain). internet worked and free breakfast included (398 rmb) would recommend to any western / usa traveler.

Reviewed By krautlandThe internet here is unusably slow and the bathrooms are problematic. I don't recommend this hotel at all, despite the good location and reasonable price, but you may struggle to find anything decent in this town as it's quite remote and small.

Stepping into the twilight zone
Reviewed By Dave BStep into the Yanbian Dazong (formerly Yambian Daewoo) hotel and you enter a parallel universe ... Crazily ornate chandeliers and oil-paintings that wouldn't look out of place in Versailles, alongside officious unsmiling staff (with no English - but thankfully our hosts translated) who've stepped out of a 1970s spy movie, amazing Chinese and Korean food in the restaurant (again, no help with the menu), a massive but empty bar with its own Bavarian-style micro-brewery, and rooms with heavy furnishings and deep carpetsbut also aircon and flatscreen TV (showing only Chinese and Korean channels). It's a weird experience, although not a very comfortable and not unpleasant one!

Very near Changbai Mountain
Reviewed By babyoscar530We stayed here for next day visit to Changbai Mountain. Although the hotel is rated as 5 star, it doesn't have 5 star amenities. The room is clean but is not decked out as 5 star hotel, but is is so near Changbai Mountain making the trip easy access. There are very little family shops near the area, so do prepare to bring some food or it is very costly. The hotel staff is nice and the air quality is excellent around the area.

Volcanic spa hotel
Reviewed By Barry EExcellent by Chinese standards. Government owned and caters for Chinese tourists. Well worth a stay of you can manage the language barrier as no English spoken here. The unique feature of the hotel is the only volcanic spa from Chang Bai Shan, costs about 230 yuan, and is brilliant. It also has villas and a forest trail. It is closest hotel to Chang Bai Shan north side. Buffet breakfast is good. Dinner is poor. Room quality very good.

Isolated and shabby
Reviewed By lanhampaulWe stayed here at the very end of season, mid October. The hotel was badly built and our rooms looked out over the public atrium and arrival hall. The room was ok but the air con did not work properly, and the room was very hot without it on, especially without windows to the outdoors. Bed comfortable, bathroom facilities ok but tired. The restaurant food was ok but the dining room has absolutely no atmosphere, no windows. Internet very poor indeed. Generally if you want to visit the west side of the national park this place is ok for one night, but don't linger.

Reviewed By wallflower69Free pick up from train station! Call them in advance to arrange for the pick up :) Very impressed with the new hostel, they have just newly renovated and it even has a lift. Stayed in a double room with ensuite bathroom, comfortable and nicely furnished :)
