Avoid it at all cost
Reviewed By Bank Tharin PThe hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. You may easily miss the sign because it is so damaged and hard to read. The hotel is a rundown with no security or anything at all. During nighttime it will be totally dark and derelict. Furthermore, they also don't have any lifts (prepare to carry your luggage up and down!). Personally, we find it highly overpriced. The room was neat and clean but TV is from the ancient era with only several watchable channels. Food was horrible, with refrigerated ham and sausage from convenience store. Decent staff service (if you find child labour tolerable, that is). In conclusion, highly not recommended. Visited in December 2014

Truly best place to stay in Kanchanaburi province (IMHO)
Reviewed By ConquerorOfSummitsIn humble opinion of our family, Mek Kiri Resort deserves the best score because of multiple reasons, and I would like to tell about them in order. The first reason is a spectacular scenery, surrounding this marvelous place (just look at the photos I’ve attached!) We lived in the riverfront room and we had a chance to enjoy it every morning, while we were feeding fish in the river and every evening, while we were swinging in hammock to the strains of Nature. Talking about location, we found it extremely convenient for our travelling needs. It took us about one hour and half to get the downtown of Kanchanaburi and the same time to get, for example, the Sangkhla Buri, where we got to see one-of-a-kind Mon Bridge. And the last but not the least reasons why we want to come back here, are: friendly staff, who are always ready to help if you need so; surprisingly good Wi-Fi signal (which turned out to be much better, than, let’s say, in some chain hotels); and simple, but really tasty food in local restaurant. By the way, Mek Kiri Resort gives an opportunity to have not only breakfast on the territory, but also lunch and dinner (at certain hours). By the way, I can’t help but mention that every single guest can participate in an unique morning ceremony of making alms on the raft. We also decided not to miss a chance and became a part of it and, I can say, that it was unforgettable. If you’re interested in too, just contact the staff before your check-in. Sure, I see, that I’ve already written a lot, so, in my summary, I would like to say the following: yes, I perfectly understand, that some of people can find interior in the rooms as quite old and shabby, BUT. Just reckon about one thing: this place is all about enjoying the outside beauty, not about sitting in the room, and in this field Mek Kiri Resort is head and shoulders above other similar resorts. Of course, in humble opinion of our family.

Kæmpe store vandfald som vi aldrig har oplevet før. Tiden på SURIYA var en oplevelse for sig selv, dejlige senge og badeværelser, der var alle de ting vi skulle bruge samt at servicen var i top.

Reviewed By supernumwaanที่พักริมน้ำ การเดินทางจากถนนใหญ่ไม่ยาก แต่ควรไปถึงที่พักก่อนค่ำ สถานที่จอดรถ มีอย่างพอเพียง สำหรับการเข้าพักครั้งนี้ได้รวมอาหารเช้าและเย็นด้วย ชอบอาหารเย็นที่นี้ มาก รสชาติดีวัตถุดิบสดใหม่ และภายในบริเวณรีสอร์ท ยังมีสวนผลไม้สวนผัก รวมไปถึงการเลี้ยงไก่ไข่ ที่ใช้วัตถุดิบที่มีมาทำอาหารให้กับลูกค้า สำหรับหน้ารีสอร์ท มีมุมให้ถ่ายรูปเยอะ ต้นไม้เยอะ และในส่วนที่พักบนแพ ก็มีความเงียบสงบดี แต่สำหรับพ่อคนอาคารที่ได้พักนั้น มีความสะอาดดี ห้องน้ำกว้างมาก สามารถมองเห็นวิวแม่น้ำได้นิดหน่อย และจะต้องขึ้นบันได 1 ชั้น แต่ที่นอน ค่อนข้างที่จะนอนไม่สบายตัว อยากให้ปรับเรื่องฟูกที่นอนค่ะ เพราะค่อนข้างเป็นหลุม และหมอนนอนแล้วเทไม่สบายทำให้นอนไม่หลับเท่าที่ควร แต่สำหรับบรรยากาศทั่วไป ถือได้ว่าดีมากค่ะ และพนักงานก็บริการดี อาหารเช้าอร่อย และอาหารเย็นสามารถเติมได้ การตกแต่งรีสอร์ทและบรรยากาศโดยรวมถือว่าดีมากค่ะ ได้เปลี่ยนบรรยากาศเหมือนมานอนที่ไร่ที่ฟาร์ม แต่ก็ยังเต็มไปด้วยสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก เป็นอีกหนึ่งที่พักที่แนะนำค่ะ

Quiet Farm Setting
Reviewed By JMK_The_WandererThis homestay is set within a very peaceful farm and is run by a nice Thai family. They offer several types of accommodation, from double rooms in new block buildings, to family rooms, to tents. The double room I booked was small but comfortable, with a double bed, fridge, kettle, clothes rack, dresser, AC, and small TV. Bathroom was small but ok, with hot water. There was also a table and chairs outside the room. The dining area was set outside and they will cook one of a small selection of basic meals for you at a cost of 50b. Breakfast was provided free - coffee, toast, and a very flavourful porridge. There is no wifi, so if you need to be connected, be sure to set up a SIM card beforehand. As the only western visitor here (I believe guests here are usually Thai families), I couldn't help but feel like I made the family a little bit uncomfortable, but everyone was friendly to me. I mentioned peaceful, this place was very quiet at night, excellent sleep quality. I've stayed on farms where between barking dogs and crowing roosters, there was no sleep to be had, but not here. Very quiet. Be aware that it is not possible to get here by public transport. It's set about 6 km off the highway, the last km of which is unpaved (but well maintained). Considering the location and the amenities offered, I feel that the prices are a little bit too high, but I did enjoy my stay and would consider returning for a future stay.

Great place

Organic style development close to town and a beautiful park across the street Very enjoyable Stay The staff was lovely to me and I appreciated the whimsy and overall charm told the environment. Very reasonably priced for amenities. Only negative is that the bedding should be upgraded at least in my room the mattress was way hard and pillows uncomfortable. Overall a great experience though

Nice clean budget hotel with friendly owner

The owner and staff were very friendly. The air conditioning, hot water, and refrigerator all worked very well. The bedding, linen, etc were in very good condition. I would't hesitate to stay here again if I were to revisit the area.

Basic but Inexpensive
Reviewed By JMK_The_WandererSmall and very basic (but very inexpensive) room. Very clean. Small double bed, table, AC, TV (didn't try it), cool shower. Could connect to the wifi but had no internet. Only one available power point in the room, and it was 4 feet off the ground - bring a long cable! Good sized car park. Friendly, welcoming staff - not sure if they spoke English, I didn't try. Location is just adjacent to the public market. Be aware that in this town although you can get food during the morning and daytime, dinner time is tougher. There seems to be only one restaurant nearby, and it was closed for a holiday. There's always 7-11...

Ressort neuf et très propre

Le personnel est très sympathique et toujours près à rendre service. Ils nous ont même offert du pomelos délicieux. Je suis très content de mettre le premier avis pour ce ressort. C’est propre et fonctionnel.
