Reviewed By InstantcalmerExcellent hotel, not perfect but excellent. Location is amazing, cleanliness is outstanding and staff are friendly and helpful. Bed was super comfortable and room was well planned and there was a useful balcony My river view room was only partial but hey, you are right on the river. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices with Western, Thai and Chinese dishes. Only problem was the alternating strong and weak water pressure in the (huge) shower at night maybe because the hotel was pretty full Seems to the best hotel in TP, not the cheapest but the best quality so the best value. English level is OK too.

Reviewed By PC1955Room worn, not clean. Not good value for money. Common areas and elevator smelled. Easy access to Tesco, which may be the 'view' mentioned. Location ok, but there has to be better choices in area. Breakfast adequate, but typical 'western' style breakfast, two eggs, some hot dogs, sliver of processed ham, white toast and salad. Rice porridge also available.

Back to nature accomodation on the Mekong River in Thatphanom Nakhonphanom province at north-east Thailand. Quiet location with beautiful views of the Mekong River and for those who can get out of bed a magic sunrise well worth the effort.

Reviewed By Bob NRojana’s Retreat on Mekong Hotel is a most wonderful place to stay, with dramatic views of the Mekong River. The owner is always available, helpful and gives the very best service you could want. The cottages are clean, very well-maintained and they sit and a wonderful well-maintained tropical flower garden setting. I really love the area. It’s peaceful, with genuine local culture and great views of the fisherman and sunrise over the Mekong River. Also fascinating is the nearby, highly revered Buddhist Chedi in That Phanom and the colorful Monday and Thursday morning Lao markets. I highly recommend this resort.
