Agriturismo Pieve de' Pitti

Rooms with a vineyard. In a classic country style of Tuscany, Agriturismo Pieve de' Pitti is surrounded by a large green area ideal for your wide open air evenings, spent under the shade of limes, in front of the oven, with a glass of red wine.During sunny days, when the sun hugs the hill, the pool and the wooden patio are at your disposal to refresh your mood. The winery, a few steps from the farm, will offer you wine and extravirgin oil tasting and we’ll take you across the vineyards to tell our wine-growing philosophy. All season long, we organize Tuscan cooking lessons and Wine tastings or on request. We suggest you the most unique and unexpected lookouts and walking, mountain-bike trails and bridle paths, running along the Era and Cecina Valley, for discovering castles, cliffs, valley, absorbed in the waving grain, listening to the wind that moves the windmills’s blades. For those preferring the beach, there are the beaches of Vada, Cecina and Bibbona, a few kilometers from the farm or, driving north, the coast of Pisa, the Natural Park of San Rossore and the wild landscape of the sand dune in Vecchiano.

Perfect holiday with perfect hosts

What an amazing experience! We felt extremely welcome from the first moment we arrived at the Property of Ida and Sergio. The location is beautiful, laid on a hilltop and thus providing an amazing view of the surrounding environment. The room was tidy, large and equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast was great (lots of options and fresh food), and the coffee delicious. The swimming pool is lovely and lying next to the pool you also enjoy the amazing view. It’s a great base for visiting Pisa, Lucca, Florence and Siena (but don’t miss the smaller towns around Tericciola) As great as the place and location is, the hosting by Ida (and Sergio) is what makes this place one of the best we’ve ever visited. They are very welcoming, have incredible knowledge about all the surrounding places and just make you feel as if you are part of the family. Ida’s cooking is amazing (and we’ve made good use of that!), so even though there isn’t an official restaurant - make sure to ask for a dinner made by Ida! Lastly, the wines of Pieve itself are amazing (especially the Chianti, in our humble opinion) and we recommend you try the wine tour (which includes a tasting and food).

Authentique tuscan experience

Reviewed By elenad265

I would start this review mentioning how difficult was the search for our accommodation in Tuscany. We wanted to stay in the countryside, at a farm, to meet a tuscan family, see the lifestyle, taste local products, but also to have a certain level of comfort and facilities. Well, it is not easy at all, to find this perfect mix. After an exhausting search we found this place. Fattoria Fibbiano was our home for five nights were we had a wonderful time! We found exactly what we wished for: a business managed by a tuscan family who also lives there. A beautiful, tipically tuscan property and also a wine factory. They are also cultivating olives in and vegetables …The olive oil and the tomatos…are heavenly! All these activities at the farm are run with the help of a team, of course, and what a team! Rosario and Simona are so kindly and friendly people and perfect hosts!! For me, a sign for a good management, a healty business and pleasant atmosphere is the energy of the employees. When they have authentique smiles, when they have that good energy and ready to help or to answer for certain requests in a very polite and friendly manner, I know there is a place where the employees are treated good, with respect and apreciated, therefore a good customer experience comes as a natural result. We had a very good breakfast every morning (cold cuts, fruits, fresh croissant, cakes, coffee) and some platters in certain evenings. Even if we decided on last minute, Rosario was very kind to allow us to participate together with a group at a wine factory tour, which ended with a wine tasting session and cold cuts & cheese platters. They helped us with reccommendation for local restaurants, local products store, etc. We had a wonderful stay at Fibbiano and we would choose again this location in Tuscany. In terms of reccommendations I have one: mosquito nets at the windows would be highly appreciated. At least in my case that I am not at all friend with the insects, it would offer me a huge comfort to leave the windows open :-) Keep up the good work guys! We hope to meet again! Elena&Cosmin

Lovely authentic stay in Tuscany

Hello fellow travelers, I highly recommend you stay at this place. It is such a nice throwback to old country living, with all the amenities you come to expect in a modern world - just understated. Location is so good as a jump off for day tripping around the region. Alfredo was super helpful when we had questions about where to go and what to do, but never was in our way at all. When I told him I loved birdwatching, he lent me his binoculars. He is the true definition of super host! We’ve stayed at places that cost twice as much that we’re half as clean. All the towels and linens were fresh. Kitchen had everything we needed to make a meal. Spice. Sweet. Oil. Etc. Overall we loved our time there. Clean awesome pool. Lounge chair for everyone. Umbrella for everyone. If given the opportunity, we would gladly return. Ciao

Remote, ok located in Tuscany, no amenities, some rooms with no view

Reviewed By 429melaniaf

We are Hilton points owners and have been forever intrigued about this place. Needless to say, we saw the opening and jumped at it. I had to telework during my stay, so that gave me a slightly different perspective, you can assess the place with a bit more detail if you are staying for a longer period of time inside the room. While we were happy to have gone, we are not sure we would return or recommend someone to go. The hotel has what a typical HGV property has in terms of basic room comfort and detail, but missed other things that we found almost incredible. Towards the end, those missing elements were so evident, that we decided to shorten our stay by one day (6 days instead of 7). We needed 10 minutes in the next hotel, to know we made the right decision. So this is a place that you will probably enjoy, while knowing you might have some important trade offs to make. I will start with some good things that we found, and then move to the list of trade offs... some ok, some not so much. Staff: very nice and polite. They truly believe that their hotel is the best! WIFI: really good. I had to work during the week, so I can attest for the internet being pretty good the entire time. Room comfort: small rooms, but nice beds and pillows, luxury bathroom, typical known Hilton good quality toiletries. Washing machine on site was nice! Trade offs Location: You definitely need a car for this hotel. It's remote from trains or any public transportation, and has no restaurant on site. You need a car pretty much for everything you do, and since you are not in a town, there are no taxis waiting outside. The location in itself is ok. Decently located to drive to interesting towns nearby or whithin an hour's drive. Lucca, San Gimignano (close to 1 hour drive ), Volterra (30 minute drive, Peccioli, Terricciola (less than 10 minute drive). Driving to these places give you the opportunity to see the Tuscan rolling hills. Many people go to Hilton because that is a safe choice. You more or less know what to expect. Fair enough. On the flip side, if you don't mind being a bit more adventurous, unless you are a HGV owner that has many points to use (and therefore you book at no current monetary cost to you), if you have to pay for this hotel, I would think twice about why coming here. Why staying in the middle of nowhere when I can stay in amazing cities nearby and do basically the same that I am doing from here, plus being maybe able to walk to restaurants or have other amenities and the character proper of nice comparable Italian hotels? Amenities 1. No view for 1 bedrooms. Our review is based on our rented 1 bedroom apartment. AVOID Room Brunello no. 3 if you can, unless you want to be in a darkish room, with ZERO view. We were wondering which architect could have been so wrong in placing a building right in front of the rooms that are at the higher level and therefore blocking some rooms from the decent view that the hotel has in front. It seems the one bedrooms are only on the lower level of this upper row building, so all see is the building in front. Even the "shared plaza" they have for these rows of rooms has unblocked view from ONE table. All others are blocked by the two buildings that hold the larger apartments, built right in front. I have to say, this was quite shocking. When we travel to these scenic places, we normally pay a surplus to have a nice view. So for us was very frustrating, as this caught us off guard and there was not way for us to know about it (we asked and never got a direct reply). Even more that we mentioned that we were not happy and basically were told that the place was full -though we saw people in our same row coming and going while we were there... I guess it was complicated trying to move us -the ones that stayed the longish, seemed to be the unlucky-punished ones. Being on ground level, this room doesn't have a balcony either. In exchange, they put a table at the back, that looks into a grass wall, and on top of that wall there are a few grape vines that someone called "vineyard". It was kind of depressing. We ended up moving the table to the front, the side blocked by a building, but that at least gave the feeling of more openness when we were having coffee in the morning. 2. Room size. Another element from the 1 bedroom is its relatively small size. Sure you have a full kitchenette, luxury bathroom and living separate from bedroom, But in the kitchen you have no counter space to cut a slice of bread. We had to push dishes to find a place to store a bag of Doritos. The very nice bathroom is crammed, you hardly find space to put the towel, and the room in itself feels small. Again this is a remote place. We have been in other Hiltons, always pleased to feel that you are not feeling you are sardined in a room. In here, we felt sardined. 3. No restaurant. This was a bit shocking for us, to know the property doesn't have anything but vending machines. Yes, vending machines at the lobby!!! To overcome this, they have arranged for a baker to come in the mornings (which we used and liked), and also now offer an affordable basket of cheeses and cold cuts to compensate. They also sell wines. Otherwise, no bar, no restaurant. closest one by foot is about 20 min away, but you have to walk on the road a bit. There is a nice winery 5 minutes away, but that is a different activity. 4. Pool. 300 yards downhill (on easy path). This is another level of privacy, if you ask me. We went once, and never felt compelled to to the trip again. So all in all, we were more disappointed than pleased. We have had amazing stays with Hiltons in Italy (Sorrento, Venice), and also terrible ones (Garden Inn outside Florence). The thing we were really happy about is that it gave us the opportunity to check this area, that otherwise would have been a bit obscure to us, especially when Italy has so much beauty to offer. For us, we ticked this place, but unless something was different, is probably a no-go back.

Exceeded all expectations of idyllic Tuscany

Reviewed By Cariss L

Casale Podernovo exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed in a spacious 3 bedroom apartment that was perfect for our 2 young children- we were provided with cots and high chairs and there were stair case gates. We had a very warm and friendly welcome from staff would couldn't have done more to help. The area in general is just beautiful. It is quiet and safe for children to run around in the well kept gardens. The pool area is also well kept and each apartment has its own allocated beds/chairs and tables with fresh towels so that there is no problem with reserving sun beds. There is a hut with a fridge full of soft drinks/water for guests to enjoy and anther with baby changing facilities- both of which are ideal so that you don't have to keep going to and from the appt. each apartment also has their own little garden area/pergola with table and chairs. There is use of the barbecue area if you fancy barbequing. Our kids loved picking their own fruits and vegetables grown on site- there are tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, spring onion, onions, lemons, aubergine to name but a few. These made a delicious lunch. The on site restaurant serves a lovely breakfast and you can help yourself to cake/croissants and coffee or mineral water after 3pm. All of this was included making it excellent value. We ate in the restaurant some evenings and the quality of the food was excellent. On Monday we did wine tasting which included meats/bread and cheese. This was free for guests. On Tuesday there was a pizza party costing €20 per adults including unlimited wine, beer & soft drinks and pizza cooked in the outdoor pizza oven. Tables were outside and we watched the sun go down. This is a great way of getting guests to integrate. On the night we left they organised a leaving party consisting of a buffet of antipasti (delicious), main course, dessert and sparkling wine. This was outdoors accompanied by live music. It was good value at €25 per adult. The location is rural and you will definitely need a car/transport to get around like all places in the region as the roads are small and winding. Despite this, it is only 35mins from Pisa airport and a great base for exploring Florence, Sienna and San Gimigiano too. Bike hire is also free for guests. This really was an excellent place to stay- beautiful idyllic and child friendly setting made even better by great staff members and all of the extras described above. We will be back!

The Best Location For Our Wedding In Tuscany We Could Have Wished For!

We celebrated our wedding at Il Selvino and it was just a dream! The property is beautiful and exactly as you would imagine Tuscany. The olive trees that line the driveway and the main building are just fantastic. The gardens and the pool are large and well maintained. The food was very good and the breakfast buffet had a very large selection. The culinary highlight was the pizza evening, where there was homemade pizza from the stone oven on the terrace, and you could watch them being prepared. The people were all very friendly and made everything possible for us on our wedding weekend so that we had an unforgettable time. Just like us, our guests were enthusiastic and still rave about the beauty and hospitality. We can only recommend to spend a wonderful time here and experience Tuscany as you imagine it. We love Yuptala, a truly amazing place!

Reviewed By Tomek R

We stayed in Yuptala during our car trip around Tuscany this summer. It was a perfect spot to stay for a week, make trips to a nearby touristic destinations like Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano and relax afterwards. The camping is owned by Livio, who is a fantastic host and immediately makes you feel at home. He checked everyday if we are ok and whether we needed anything and answered immediately any questions we had. He produces and sells local products and gives you a lot of information about the sites you can visit. The kitchen and bathroom are very clean and well thought, with amenities you may need. The neighbourhood is simply wonderful, quiet, peaceful and surrounded with green hills of vineyards. This was a great spot and one of our favorite camping sites to date. Prices are fair and there are no hidden fees. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip.
