Reviewed By EmirsyahStayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Room and hotel facilities/amenities: Big rooms, clean, comfy bed, but the air con did not work properly. The engineering team could not find out why my AC was not working. The gym was spacious with many free weight options as well. Location: Very good. It is near the convention center. The hotel is your only to go place since there is nothing to see in Tangshan anyway. Getting taxi: You better use didi. Food: Pretty good. Plenty of options for breakfast. The burgers for room service was a bot dry though. Service: Good, the concierge was helpful and friendly.

Reviewed By RiesstThe Grand Metro Guofeng hotel is located just outside the city center on the banks of an artificial lake. The hotel was built in 2011 with roughly 300 rooms. It is a State-run hotel with an attractive price level. The standard rooms are spacious with over 30 m2 in size. These rooms are well appointed, offering a good comfort. The design is rather peculiar kitsch which is fancied by Chinese customers. The furnishing includes a large desk and a recliner. The bathroom is separated by a glass partition. The view into the bathroom can be covered with a blind. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and a freestanding bathtub. A kettle, two free bottles of mineral water and fresh fruits are placed in the room. WiFi worked perfectly. The breakfast is rich. It is offered at the price of USD 10.-. Only on weekends as dinner buffet is offered. The restaurant is tastefully furnished and elegant. The dishes were all tasty. The price level is fair, the service is excellent. An atrium coffee shop and bar with oversized marble statues is located next to the lobby. Around the hotel is nothing worthwhile to be explored except the lake promenade. The nearest shop or restaurant is located in about 3 km distance from the hotel. The Grand Metro Guofeng is a good address in Tangshan. The comfort is equivalent to 5-star, but officially declared it is a 4-star hotel.

Reviewed By Jake1490Stayed one night at this hotel. In house bar is small and was limited on offerings but that was the only downside of my stay. The beds were very nice and the bathroom was spacious and very nice. I would stay again.

Reviewed By James RHere on business - can't think of any other reason to stay in this industrial suburb of an industrial city. Rooms were more spacious than I can dream of, with every facility you would look for in an International Hotel. Breakfast buffet even included coffee, bread rolls with butter and jam, and cereals, although no cold milk - only warm. Staff were polite, helpful and attentive. Didn't try their English, as I was with Chinese colleagues. Western Restaurant served Chinese food in a Western Style, and there is a Chinese restaurant too, which we did not visit. Rooms were clean and functioned perfectly, and price reflected the fact that this is not a city centre hotel. Just outside is a small park and square, where you can see the locals dancing in the evening, practicing cracking their whips, or just hanging out and chatting. Would be very happy to return.
