Hubby, myself and daughter went for a weekend break for the first time since the 90's. Was apprehensive as wasn't sure if the hotel/ bed and breakfast was up to standard. My goodness how wrong was I!!. Although, the room was small, decor little out dated and we had shower curtain. The bed was so comfy slept well, quiet area, no noise at night. It felt so homely. To add to it, the owner Bertie and wife, cooked up a great breakfast each morning. The hotel is a good area 7mins walk to shopping area, less than 5mins to breach. Restaurants 10mins walk. I would recommend this hotel. Can't wait to return:)

Quiet location with bonus sea view!

Set back from main road. Thorpe Bay is to the east of Southend. Quiet area. Lovely and helpful staff. We did not request a room with a sea view but were given one! Big car park free for guests. If you have children it is a long-ish walk to the centre of Southend but there are buses and car parks. Outside of the main Southend beach there are many lovely places to take chilldren, e.g. Shoeburyness or Chalkwell. Lots of swings and picnic areas all along the seafront. Spotless comfortable room as you would expect from a Premier Inn. Thank you.

Two night Break

Reviewed By GrandTour61232488836

Booked a two night stay through buyagift. Start with the positives: Hotel pleasant. Was put in the building next door to main building. Room was nice and clean. Free car parking behind hotel. Dinner and breakfast very good. Staff nice. Negatives were: We were twice overcharged, one was for two double drinks we did not have, the other was for two puddings at dinner. Mattress was too firm for us. People staying in room 27 and 28 were very noisy during the early hours off the morning as they kept leaving there rooms every hour and slamming their room door and entrance door which led us to a poor nights sleep. Despite the negatives I would still recommend this hotel.

Lovely location awful room

Reviewed By Lorraine B

Stayed here for one night in May. Location, cocktails and food were lovely. Room was awful. Had clearly suffered some kind of water damage and not been re-decorated. Spoke to two members of staff who were not interested and was told to email after return. Have sent two emails and no response. Not a luxury experience at all.
