Excellent afternoon tea

Reviewed By cafish2016

I booked afternoon tea for my husband as a surprise. Our table was set and fresh flowers were on the table, a lovely touch. The afternoon tea was delicious, we brought some home as we couldn't finish it all. Our waiter , Josh, was excellent from start to finish. Staff at reception are so friendly and professional. The restaurant is so lovely, wood panneled, such a nice ambiance. We will definitely go back and hopefully stay at the hotel too.

From the moment I arrived at The Two Lifeboats the welcome was warm. I was delighted to be able to book a room specifically catering for the solo traveller and therefore cost effective. My room was bijou but had everything I required with a beautiful sea view and perfect location. I stayed for three nights in total enjoying the restaurant as well as breakfast each morning. All the staff were very attentive particularly Clare my breakfast host. Would I stay here again? Absolutely most definitely. See you next year, Marie

Total rip off! Very disappointing for £90 a night. Tired and in desperate need of renovating. Checked out after 1 night despite paying for 2 nights. Found somewhere much nicer for cheaper for the second night. Mount Lavinia is an 80’s throwback and not painted since the 80’s. Chipped paintwork and plater falling off the walls. Furnished with cheap car boot sale type of furniture. Didn’t eat breakfast as the kitchen didn’t look clean. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!

Holway House

Norfolk coast gem

Reviewed By Dave B

Stayed here for a short break and thought Holway House was excellent. Great hosts who run an immaculate guest house. Super sized room with a large en suite with a high power rain shower. The breakfast started with fresh fruit salad followed by a vast range of cooked choices completed with homemade marmalade and jam. Lucy was full of ideas and recommended the Nepalese restaurant that had a varied and tasty menu. Beware of the large portions but well worth a visit. Highly recommend Holway House. Look forward to returning later in the year.
