A wonderful holiday in Castellabate!
Reviewed By StokeNewingtonN4We spent a blissful few days staying in this wonderful agriturismo. Although only a few minutes' drive from Castellabate and the nearby beaches, this rural idyll is surrounded by lush countryside. The only noise is that of the gentle cicadia. We had a 2 bedroom suite with massive veranda- perfect for our family with 2 young children. The owner of the place, and the emotional force behind this captivating escape from reality is the absolutely lovely Gabriella: welcoming, kind-hearted, generous and warm. She made us feel at home from the second we arrived. She delighted the kids every day with honey taken straight from her own bees. Breakfast is served on the beautiful shaded terrace and consists of a selection of home made delights that change daily. One of the highlights of the entire trip to Italy was the home-made meal that Gabriella made for us and some of the other guests. It was a real banquet- home-made pasta with almond pesto, delicious local organic sausages from a nearby farm, hand cut chips, fresh local vegetable and salad, and great desserts made with great attention to detail. Of course, the local wine and dessert wines were flowing at no extra cost. Great value at EUR 20 per head for everything. Although the meal at the agriturismo was by far the best meal we had in the area, we also enjoyed dinners at Trattoria Alano, Trattoria da Giovanna (also in Alano) and La Fattoria (also in Alano). The food choices in Castellabate and Santa Maria are really overpriced tourist fare and were nothing special. We had a delicious lunch at a local farm, Caseificio Antica Giara, where they serve a selection of products made from their own buffalos. The highlight of course was the mozzarella di buffala.

Lovely Place
Reviewed By roamer35We visited this lovely bed and breakfast for just one night on our way driving down the southern coast. It's a very nicely and tastefully furnished house. The aesthetics are very beachy and traditional yet modern and stylish. The whole place has this bright beach house feel. The rooms are spacious and there are huge windows in all the rooms and the common area. If you sit in bed and look out it feels like you are sitting in the middle of the sea! The bathrooms are nice and clean but not as stylish as the rooms. We had taken two rooms on the first floor and they had this lovely common area in between with a kitchenette. That was really nice. Just a note though that one of the rooms the really nice one with the library of books does not have the bathroom inside it it is across from the common area (private for the room just not in there) It's ok if you are a family sharing the space however if you are sharing with strangers it could be an inconvenience. The location of this place is amazing. Literally across the street from the sea and a walking promenade. There is parking along the street but you have to make sure you pay at the meter. Booking was very smooth and the person in charge was quick and efficient. One thing about this place that I didn't really like was the breakfast. It was packaged stale food that we actually skipped as it didn't look appetising at all. Another thing is that there was nobody really there to welcome us in and answer any questions. One person just opened the door for us have us the keys and took payment and we barely saw her again. Over all the design and location and aesthetics are just gorgeous in this place. However the lack of a proper breakfast and friendly staff will make me give it a 4 instead of 5.

In early 2020 when covid hit we were forced to re-arrange the stay as the hotel was unable to host the event we were due to attend, due to government restrictions on gatherings during covid. I believe the hotel noted that they had to close completely for a period. Have emailed since in relation to a refund, as the event was unable to take place, all of a sudden the hotel has gone silent and won't respond to emails. I still reserve an open mind, perhaps a technical issue, lets see if they respond to my mail after seeing my Trip Advisor post perhaps?

Reviewed By Linda RWe were in Castellabate for wedding and stayed in a wonderful large room at Bed and Charme Isca della Chitarra. The people owning the property were wonderful host and we enjoyed our stay. The airconditioning worked brilliantly and probably saved my husband who do not take well to the heat, and it get's very hot in the end of July. Great location as well, a bit of a walk to the beach but that was no problem.

Only down side is the hotel is on a steep slope and if you walk down to the town it's also on a steep slope. All due to the area being in the mountains. The view is exceptional.

Reviewed By Darren JAbsolutely loved our stay here. Rooms were modern and immaculately clean . The staff were kind and helpful and the owner always a smile and a wave. Food was some of the finest I've ever eaten . 5 stars . The location is central to everything . Private decking area on the beach to sunbathe away in this stunning Italian village . This is not your typical resort full of banging nightlife . It's a stunning part of Italy where you can soak up the ambience and Italian charm . I look forward to my return to La marina a quaint little hotel full of the essence of Italy

Reviewed By santagnsTre giorni di relax assoluto! B&B situato in ottima posizione, fronte mare ( spiaggia di sabbia, sia libera che possibilità di lido attrezzato). Pulito e di recente ristrutturazione, camere ampie e comode, la nostra con un bel terrazzo con vista mare parziale. Ottima colazione. Con una piacevolissima passeggiata lungomare si arriva in centro dove ci sono vari ristoranti, bar, pizzerie , negozi di souvenir. Il centro storico di Castellabate dista meno di 10 min di auto. Ringraziamo Massimo e lo staff per la disponibilità e gentilezza con cui ci accolti. Ci torneremo sicuramente!

It is far enough from the sea, we wasted 30 minutes on foot every morning and every evening, my wife cannot drive a bicycle and we hate to use the car to go to the sea.
