Amazing stay in a state of the art apartment
Reviewed By FlocaveWhat a wonderful stay ! Our host Francesco was friendly, organized , informative and answered my requests immediately. The apartment is absolutely fantastic: High-end top quality amenities , practical layout. The neighbours are friendly and even told us where in town we could do our covid test (required to travel back to our country.) Monreale has THE most beautiful cathedral I have ever seen in my life…and probably will ever see!

Reviewed By drsu2022Well positioned for exploring Palermo. Most places are easily accessible by foot. Clean and modern minimalistic decor. Rooms are large and spacious. Easy to reach via the airport shuttle which stops only a hundred meters away.

The location of this hotel could not be better. Virtually accessible to everything Palermo has to offer. The service and attention of the staff was beyond what was expected. Could not recommend more highly.

I love the clean and simple concept of this property. A tasty rooftop breakfast and wonderful staff really helps the clients. Excellent service with smiles, don't know how that do it, the hotel was full, they were great!!

Reviewed By Gladys63_10I stayed in this hotel when I was organising a nature tour in Sicily for a group of English people, and I will definitely stay there whenever I visit Palermo in the future. It's an extraordinary building - an old church that was abandoned for years and has been lovingly restored by the owner, Alessandro. He has an amazing imagination and has introduced glass floors and a glass lift shaft and decorated the entire hotel with interesting antiquities, art, vespers, bicycles and Sicilian knick-knacks. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms have antique sinks and are decorated with old Sicilian tiles. Breakfasts were lovely - as much coffee / pastries as you could possibly consume and a lovely side plate of fruit on every table. All the staff were warm and helpful, and, as other reviewers have mentioned, they're in touch with a team of people who can drive you to sites or to the airport and who are all professional, calm and reassuring. Alessandro himself is quite charming and he tells me he may be opening a sauna soon so look out for that! The hotel is right in the centre of town, near the Palazzo dei Normanni, which houses the Capella Palatina (unmissable) and regular exhibitions of modern art, and is a short walk away from the Cathedral and the pedestrianised Via Vittorio Emanuele. The hotel is in an old side street so there isn't a huge amount of light - but don't be put off by that because the location and ambience is perfect and you can dowse yourself in sunshine all day when you're walking around town. I highly recommend Porta di Castro. Thank you to Alessandro and all the staff for a very special stay.

Reviewed By Simon SMy wife and I spent three nights at Rosa's Palazzo Del Poeta in mid-May. Everything was perfect! The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and everything was perfectly clean. Still speechless about the breakfast... During our stay, whenever we needed something, we got help immediately. Rosa has set up a most efficient messaging system, and she and her team always responded immediately. At the end of our trip, I forgot a jacket at Palazzo Del Poeta. Rosa notified me, asked me for my address, and sent it all the way to New York, not asking for anything. In short, the place (the palazzo itself and its location) is great and the team is fantastic - will go back as soon as we can go back to Sicily! Highly recommended! Simon

A wonderful holiday
Reviewed By RMH613We stayed in this truly exquisite resort earlier this month. We really appreciated the personalised welcome upon arrival with a glass of prosecco and intro to the resort with a tour to our room. The grounds are lovingly manicured and picture perfect. Our villetta was also perfectly maintained and the views from the terrace, beautiful. We sampled all of the restaurants, each of which provided a great standard and variety of food. During the day the riva bar by the sea is a must and at sunset, the Palazzo terrace restaurant is delightful (you need to book for the latter). The staff genuinely seem to love their jobs and are so friendly and helpful. The GO’s put on a great show in the evening, what a talented bunch! We saw a Bridgerton themed performance and a Queen tribute act while there. There is a dress code in the eve that is recommended which we initially wondered how many people would actually adhere to - it turned out to be quite fun with most people joining in, though it’s not overly serious. There is a helpful path just outside the entrance to the resort which leads you straight down some steps and along the beach promenade to Cefalu town (est 20-30 min walk)- definitely worth a trip. Also, if you just need a few essentials, there’s a pretty decent supermarket just over the road from the resort. I read a few reviews highlighting that this is a very French resort, exercise classes in French, language spoken in restaurant etc. Indeed it is - as Brits we were one of very few non French guests, which, given our French is not fluent, did make it a little challenging for us to understand a few things at times. But, that’s our fault for not speaking another language fluently! It did mean we had to brush up a bit on that. Thank you very much to the team at Club Med Cefalu for a lovely holiday.

Ok hotel with good price
Reviewed By saziiHotel was OK with clean rooms and okay customer service. Parking area was not that big but we managed to find a slot after waiting a moment. Price-level was great since 4 people room cost 88e. Neighborhood is quite busy and full of buildings which was a surprise after seeing the pictures of the hotel yard.

Reviewed By sthldntravelerWe arrived today and so far are disappointed with the hotel. One of the biggest issues is that it is impossible to get reservations in the restaurants. We have 7 nights here and have managed to obtain 1 booking, leaving us with 6 nights at the buffet. This js simply not acceptable and leaves us planning to get taxis to go to Cefalu for dinner, less than ideal with a 2 year old. The hotel should NOT advertise 4 restaurants when they are impossible to access. Aside from this the beach is in need of some major TLC, very scruffy and unkept. The rooms are fine and have been modernised but only inside; as soon as you step outside the hotel looks tired. On the positives the food in the buffet is quite reasonable although it’s very busy at dinner time. The staff in general are helpful and friendly. Not a 5* experience by any means.

The room was fine, clean and well equipped. We did enjoy spending time around the pool- a bonus as it was very hot.
