A small licenced guest house, with a Bar, and grill restaurant. In Remata which is Surrounded by forests and mountains. Outside is a lovely sunny terrace to sit and relax. We a a few tame farm animals which love to play We treat all our guests like friends. Your dogs are welcome to stay with us at a small fee. Remata has a train station in with very good links to the rest of Slovakia. Also buses run to Remata. A 5 minute walk from us is Okrasné Rybníky fishing ponds, with small zoo, children's play area, restaurant and bar. The winter we have skiing near us. We are located approx 15 minute drive from Bojnice, which has a beautiful castle, the best in Slovakia, a zoo, thermal pools and spas. Priedvidza is a small city with lots of heritage, shopping malls, cinema, theatre, a variety of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Handlova 10 minutes on the train or 5 minute drive, is an old coal miners town, it has a museum, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and lovely quaint little shops.

Reviewed By AjsawnddMe and Fiancée traveled over from the UK to Slovakia to visit her family, we chose to stay at Medvedi brloh penzion. Couldn’t of made a better choice! My fiancée goes to Slovakia regularly and she loved the experience more this time staying here. Our room was a perfect size for our short stay with a double bed and also bunkbed and cupboards, lovely and warm inside with a nice view of the woodland area outside. Information provided on the owners profile is a great description but you really have to try it yourself as it is better than expected. Such welcoming hosts and easy to get along with and perfect for English guests because its easier for conversation as one owner is English and the other speaks perfect English. On our first night we all sat up and chatted for hours without getting bored and the conversation flowed, ideal for a trip to be made to feel at home. Lovely breakfast, amazing hospitality and really homely atmosphere! Also big plans to come with the place and we cannot wait to return! Thankyou Stefano and Samo.

It was okay despite the restaurant being out of service
Reviewed By Mike PWe stayed at the Oaza pension after having driven across Europe to deliver my glider for some refurbishment work nearby. Accommodation is on the first floor (second floor to our American cousins) and first impressions were that the place was a little run down. Access was via a metal fire escape type staircase and our room was along a longish corridor. The room itself, although only decorated to a basic standard was quite okay. We liked the lobby which led to the ensuite bathroom. This gave us a bit more storage. We then encountered a problem. We had understood that our booking was for bed and breakfast but with no restaurant, breakfast would not be possible. There was a small communal kitchen available for the residents as well as a nice outside patio/deck to the rear of the property which overlooked the adjacent park. The owner of the pension kindly arranged for some breakfast cereal and tea/coffee making for us and we were able to enjoy a simple breakfast which was quite sufficient for our needs. A problem solved. In terms of location, it is set between the twin towns of Prievidza and Bonije. It is immediately adjacent to a very pleasant public park which has a cafe where you can get basic foods like pizza as well as, of course beer. A large shopping area is nearby in Prievidza. So will I stay there again? Very probably. When the restaurant is back in service, I imagine that this wil be a very pleasant and well situated pension.

Reviewed By PecanltmKrásný, útulný a čistý pokoj. Obsluha na recepci velice milá. Výborné snídaně formou Švédských stolů a všeho je dostatek. Pripojeni k wifi bez problémů. Dá se samozřejmě platit kartou. Parkování před hotelem nebo ve dvoře a možné je je i na ulici. Klidně bych se vrátil!

scandalous case management
Reviewed By bakosanetteThis September we thought, we will book the accommodation for New Year's Eve in order to achieve a beneficial offer. A few minutes later we already had a confirmation in our hands, about fix price, dates and the confirmation included the breakfast. Our reservation was made through the hotels.com. Everything was ok, we waited for the December to go until once, in this week a letter was waiting in our email account from the hotel manager. In the letter they obliged us (He claim posteriorly!) to pay another amount of money that we have already paid for… We answered that our confirmation did not contain additional ammounts so we will not pay anything else. We contacted a member of the hotels.com who confirmed our position and infomred us try to contact the hotel. To this day Hotel Remata unable to answer the phone or reply to the letters. In 2017 despite the fact that a confirmation is in our hands from September, such this thing can be done by a hotel? A service company can behave this way? In my opinion Hotel Remata is not guest centric and not reliable place. They are a money-seeking band and the management is scandalously bad. Under no circumstances I do not recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By Katarinaa999Velmi mili, pozorni majitelia/ personal, ochotne nas ubytovali po 22hej hodine po telefonickej objednavke, ked sme sa potrebovali prestahovat z ineho zariadenia, kde sme neboli spokojni- a neolutovali sme! Izba velka, cista, komfortna. Neskutocne chutne ranajky. Trosku som sa bala polohy, ktora nie je uplne v centre ale za prijemny pocit z ubytovania to stoji zato- navyse autom alebo taxikom je to aj tak v ramci Pd stale max 5min kamkolvek. Odporucam a dakujeme:)

Reviewed By szedrencstvEXCELLENT STAFF :-) KIND, smiling, HELPFUL-HELPFUL-HELPFUL :-) even without Slovak language skills (on our side) they tried to understand and help us :-) CHILD-FRIENDLY place :-) travel bed, small playing room in the restaurant, big playground outside (the best in town!), basketful of sand toys, high chair for eating, half portion etc. Clean room, enough place, comfortable beds :-) Excellent wi-fi :-) EXCELLENT inside wellness, pool with extras :-) Outside pool. climbing wall, beach volleyball, tennis courts, table tennis etc. Breakfast options are limited, but food was good both for breakfast and for dinner ... and they also have daily menu for lunch :-) Only DISADVANTAGE that it is next to a road and a railway line :-( however for us it was an advantage as Boti LOVES trains :-) so he could watch it even from bed :-) and by car it was easy to go either to Bojnice (Bajmóc) which is really near to there (Castle and Zoo), or other place, like MotoMuseum (Novaky, Nyitranovák), fishing lake (Sebedrazie, Szebed) etc. Menu (breakfast, dinner, daily) is available only in Slovak ... BILLA, LIDL and DM is in the town, in easy walking distance :-) TESCO in 20km in Prievidza (Pirvigy)

Reviewed By Klára CPár metrov od penziónu je chodník, po ktorom keď pôjdete sa dostanete priamo k Bojnickemu hradu, tento chodník nám poradila pani majiteľka, tá sa tam pohybuje takmer stále a snaží sa hosťom vo všetkom vyhovieť a poradiť, v penzióne sa nachádza reštaurácia s veľkou terasou, boli sme v lete bolo to super najesť sa na takejto terase, jedlo bolo trochu slabšie, raňajky malý výber, celý penzión mi ale príde trochu tmavý, je zariadený do tmavých farieb ale celkovo pekný a čistý, na izbe chladnička a trezor, kúpeľna v pohode

V izbe sa nachádza aj vlastná kuchnka - chladnička , wifi, mikrovlnka, rýchlovarná kanvica TV . Vlastne wc, sprcha.Penzión ponuka polpenziu . Vlastne parkovisko , osobne auto aj dodávky sa zmestia. Penzión je útulný s krásnym dvorom a vonkajším sedením . Cena je viac než priaznivá . Ak nehľadáte luxusný hotel tak penzión urcite nesklame . Odporúčam apartmán , ktorý je aj s obývačkou .
