ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

Stayed on the 4th of June 2022 Wow where do I start. Every aspect of our stay was incredible, from staff first greeting and showing us to our room ( including asking us if we need anything) to our food was a 5star experience. At no point in our stay did we feel like it was a cheap hotel due to the food being out of this world ( cider battered cod and chips ) and the whole hotel was spotless. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Never would of realised some of the staff were apprentices as they were also very professional. When entering the room ( Holicote ) we were amazed at the size of the bed and space. Not a single crumb could be found. We had a lovely sea view encluding the View of the steam train. It was our first stay away with our 2 month old and worried what it might be like with her. But everything went perfectly. Thank you to all the staff for our amazing stay. The Holliers.

Historic Harbourside Pub Inn & Hotel. A landmark building with its history of hospitality going back over 100 years. Our atmospheric restaurant and pub food experience will be very much 'River Cottage' style with Seafood, Fresh Fish, Local Farm Produce, Seasonal ingredients, Carvery, Kids Menu Not forgetting Celiac gluten free, dairy free lots of choice. If we cannot grow it or raise it on our farm, you can be sure it is locally sourced and the very best of quality. From home smoked bacon to our own baked breads you won't go hungry. Alfresco eating with beautiful scenic views. Great Beers & Wines. Cosy in winter with a real fire. Completely refurbished during the summer of 2013

Characterful sea front inn of refreshingly authentic old world charm rather than fake olde worlde theme pub. Young staff commendably friendly with good service skills. Did have to wait a l-o-n-g time for our meals, likely the fish was proving hard to catch ! My lambs liver meal was worth the l-o-n-g wait though the mash rather too lumpy ( smooth mash is the best ). Wife enjoyed her delayed fish though found it a little dry. Despite these minor issues certainly enjoyed the visit and the window seat we were blessed with.

Not brilliant

Very average. Had expected better, room was ok, sea view was partial but there was a sea view. Had invited friends to join us for dinner, and had advised them the menu shown in reception. By the evening the menu had changed which gave one of our guests a problem - embarrassing for us. We had wanted to eat at 7pm. But was advised that a large group in the function room were sitting down at that time and we advised to take a later table. After a lot of confusion with dinner times, we eventually did eat at 7pm, and the large party didn’t sit down until 8pm. An awful lot of unnecessary confusion and dissatisfaction with dinner. Portions tiny, but tasty. Gardens are lovely, and location is good, 5 minutes from seafront. Staff friendly and helpful

Chris and Sue are great host. First night in town for the SW path hike. Rooms were clean and cozy. The full English breakfast was amazing and best I’ve had in my UK time. Fried eggs and bacon and beans and huge mushrooms. Will certainly come back the next time through the UK.
